I tried cancelling my Audible subscription but was informed that my credits (6) would be destroyed at the end of the month. Clever tactic by Amazon but it won't work.

Recommend a book that you wish all of humanity would read. Preferably, though not necessarily, non-fiction. Something you seem to be near essential and beneficial to the human race.

For example, if I happened upon this thread I'd recommend Atomic Habits by James Clear

“The Ultimate History of Video Games” by Steven Kent. If you enjoy video games then it’s worth a listen. “Console Wars” by Blake Harris is a good one too, especially if you grew up with the Genesis and SNES. “Replay” is another one. It includes computers while Ultimate History focuses more on the consoles. They are incredibly detailed and show a side to the industry that you never saw. I’ve learned a lot from each book and I listen to them again and again. I mention 3 because they cover very different sides to the industry. Console Wars made me feel like I had worked at Sega, it was so detailed.

I wish more and more people would listen to or read these books. It shows how the medium came to be and how innovative it was.

Audible has been good about returns too. I’d spend them and then see if you can return a book once you’re done. Reggie Fils-Aimé is coming out with his book in May. That should be good.

If you have any interest in psychic phenomena, I'd recommend Extraordinary Knowing by Elizabeth Lloyd Mayer. It has the right balance between being easy to read while also digging deeper when needed. And it covers a lot of ground.

The special edition, or whatever it is called, for World War Z is amazing. Great structure and narration, lots of great voice actors.

I really like the Emperor books by Conn Igguldon.

I assume audible is something that reads books to you?

No idea if they are on a service like that.

If you're into good SciFi, the Expeditionary Force series by Craig Alanson is great. Excellent twist in the first book. Easy to listen to and a good story.
