Can't seem to find any general thread to ask this question.

The last two days this website freezes all the time on me on mobile. I open a thread and a 10 second freeze, I can't even scroll on anything on my actual browser when this happens.

I know it's not my phone because I have zero issue on any other websites. Only neogaf. I'm using chrome on an android one plus 11.
Ive tried clearly the cache but nothing. It's getting borderline impossible to use the website tbh.

Vivaldi
Firefox

Pick your poison, but stay clear of Chrome. I've had zero issues with Gaf on Brave.

Same here.
The ads in the middle are the issue I think.
They freeze the browser as they load. Sometimes they fail to load all together and the browser unfreezes...

NeoGaf is not running at 60fps. The framedrops are horrendous. Literally unplayable.

Yeah, I assume it is something to do with ads loading (or not loading) and fucking things up.

We haven't changed anything, not sure what could be causing it, maybe an ad campaign with some scripting errors. Will look into it.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed it myself on desktop, mobile seems to be just fine.

I’ve been having issue on Firefox lately. Admittedly I’ve just deleted all my cookies for this site which seems to help. It definitely ran better when I tried privacy mode since I think that doesn’t use cached cookies either.

I have the same phone. Awesome phone. I'll upgrade to the 14 next year.

Same here. Thought it must be my old LG phone.
On chrome as well.
I clear the cache and open a incognito tab and it works ok for a few hours, then it wont load again.
I just keep repeating those two things. FWP I guess.

You should not ne using Chrome, that thing is riddled with spyware right out of the box.
And with Manifest V3 causing so many limitations to extensions, it's just going to get worse.

Happening to me as well. The page seems to load and you can scroll but then after a few seconds it freezes for a while and then starts working again. It coincided with my account going live, not sure if that means anything.

Same issue here. RAM usage seems to spike when opening gaf and then it goes down again

There are several apk stores that allow downloading and sideloading almost any app. Including Google apps.
I usually use apkmirror.

I would estimate Saturday it started.

I have this issue for quite some time. It is just must worse this last few days. Maybe 3 or 4 days ago.
My guess is that the ads are causing this.
