i got xwing: collectors cd rom today. totally heard about it, got all excited, and when i got home i installed it and nothing seems to work. it doesn't seem to think i have an audio card at all and it won't run. i was wondering whats up with this, because i really want to play it.

i'm guessing it has something to do with dos. thats the culprit.

Not sure about XW, but TIE Fighter has an unofficial win patch for running on 2000/XP floating around.

EDIT: For the already windows version, anyway. If you have the DOS version of XW or TF, you'll need dosbox or equivalent.

Which collectors CD-ROM? If its the windows version you need to run it in compatibility mode or download the community patch that enables full XP support. If it is the DOS version, then DOS box is your best bet.
