I can't figure out what I need to do to finish the second operation. I get as far as - I guess this could be considered a spoiler -

stitching up the small cuts inside the chest, but I can't figure out what to do after sucking blood out of the bigger ones

I don't know for sure the things are called in English or the medical term but:

Take the tweezer(?) (the 4th icon on the left) and drag over the cut, then stitch it up
