saw Netflix just added it, is there a difference between watching it on Netflix vs Hulu vs etc

I heard some versions are mildly censored or something?

Netflix only has up to Enies Lobby I think

Crunchyroll should have the whole thing

There is also a fan edit called One Pace you can watch which cuts down the filler and pacing issues massively

Or just read the manga which is the best experience

CrunchyRoll? I'm thinking about getting back into anime also, though it's bittersweet for me as I last watched it at a simpler time in my life. Vampire Knight is first on my list.

I fell off after the dressrosa arc ended and that was episode 800 something. Donflomingo was the only character that kept me wanting more..
Ohh and also Lui,

One Pace is probably the better choice. My understanding is that in the mid-300s, the pacing of the anime as aired falls off a cliff. One Pace is supposed to correct this by crunching out so much of the useless filler and padding in each episode.

Or you could just read the manga.

Funimation's page got me through Fishman Island, before I quit the anime. I haven't seen a better free option. https://www.funimation.com/shows/one-piece/

I read the manga only. I heard the anime got really good, but it's too many episodes to catch back up, and that's just the New World alone.

It's a solid few months of regular watching, if you want to start from scratch.

Crunchyroll with a lot of fast-forwarding.
For the lapsed, Whole Cake arc shifted the tone, got unexpectedly dark and intense.

I don't know about 'unexpectedly dark'. I don't think it's that much darker than any other One Piece arc (aside from that one scene implied in a flashback that I don't think you could show in WSJ - that one caught me by surprise). Lots of One Piece's stories are steeped in bloodshed and oppression. I think Whole Cake's just better than One Piece otherwise had been for a long time.

don't remember the death count being this big, also how they happened.

Pulse Luffy plotting an assassination is something unprecedented.
