Hi,

This is my first post and I would like to say hi.

I have a big interest in all things Retro and also in building MAME cabinets.

I have a good collection of Retro items and have built 3 MAME cabs so far.

I am about to start building my fourth and I will document the build on the site.

You know...I must be the only member that NEVER thought of creating a "Hey This is my first post and I'm an asstard" thread...when I first started...I just--posted--and slowly became known...in fact...I think over 10 people might have an opinion on me by now!!

Edit: cool site....I take back the "and I'm an asstard" bit :b

And watch out for some people here, as Boogie mentioned, I'm surprised you haven't been torn to shreds yet. ;) People here been rippin on 'teh Juniors' lately.

Standard GAF protocol is not to make threads introducing yourself. Especially not in the gaming forum. It's kinda seen as unnecessary and presumptuous, and doesn't contribute anything to the boards.

Plus we're all a bunch of cynical bastards who thrive on the ridicule of others.

Haha.. some abbreviations, but not others. You'll soon find out. And WOW to the nice nature of the mods today. Must be New Years or something.
 
There are a few abbreviations that are banned...check your private messages (PMs)

By banned I mean you can post them and then magically end up with a week vacation
 
Are you using 4-way or 8-way sticks in that Ms Pacman cocktail? I see a capcom six layout on the third side and it got me curious as to what hardware you chose.
 
awesome cabs. im sure they saved you from a Trial by Fire.

I got 8-way Joysticks all round.... there is about 4,000 games on the cab and the Ms Pacman artwork is just for effect really! :)

Gonna wire up the controls tonight to an I-pac. Will take pictures and post onto site.

Took 2 days (7hrs each day) to build cabinet :)
 
A pizza joint near me had a similar looking ms pac man game cabinet when I was a kid, I used to play that game endlessly, good times. Great cabs, good luck with your site.

I think you dodged a bullet by making some kickass cabs. I made a mame cab, which I had a photo and it wasn't shorted right now :(
 
I can not wait for my mame arcade next year. I swear. I'm getting the stand up one though

Since this is a thread that's geared towards MAME owners on GAF, thought I'd post this here.

A bunch of the older Golden Tee games have been discontinued by Incredible Technologies and are now considered fair game by the Mame powers that be. For all of us with arcade trackballs in our setups, awesome news! Nothing beats 4-player trackball games (Cause even those who won't/don't play videogames, can't resist the fun of trackballs).
