Hideo Kojima Had to Tell Death Stranding 2 Actor he Wasn’t Playing Snake

Death Stranding had some of the worst combat in any game I've ever played. It's Stealth was basic af too.

That's because its not a shooter. Its more of a world-builder/transport management sim. Combat just isn't much of a focus outside of set-pieces.
If you don't enjoy the core gameplay, fine. It worked for me though, and a lot of other people.

Just don't pretend that it was trying to be another Metal Gear.

Lmaoooo no death stranding was not better than mgs5.

Mgs5 was mechanically excellent. Combat was fire. Stealth mechanics were great.

So what I think you are saying is, Metal Gear Solid 5 gameplay plus Death Stranding cutscenes is the hidden complete edition of MGS5?

You're nuts if you think Kojima kept the audience he had after MGSV, after Death Stranding.
You're nuts if you actually think Kojima lost us. MGSV is a great game with solid gameplay. Unfortunately unfinished because he went over budget and Konami told him to fuck off

I'm just comparing it to any other action adventure game, in which it's in that genre. It had plenty of action sequences, from moment to moment and boss fights too.

And it was subpar there.

Don't have action mechanics at all if they arent supposed to be a big focus. It's better than having shitty mechanics.

If its supposed to be more in the vein of Journey (one of my favorite games of all time), then just go all the way.

Its a game where the pleasure comes from building out nodes on a distribution network, and then optimizing the connective paths between them so as to allow you to move increasingly large and difficult cargo loads faster and more efficiently. Enemies in the game are basically obstacles that gets in the way of the above, not the focus of the gameplay.

Everything in the game is keyed in to this core loop in the same way every mechanic in MGS5 contributed to the tactical espionage sandbox.

Part of the appeal of the game is that there's nothing else quite like it.

And that's special in these days where the best devs seemed to end up boxed into making variations of their successful "formula" title, over and over again, until the end of time.
