The way he replaced David in MGSV made no sense too btw, you had two characters in the game Big Boss and Venom Snake, if you wanted Keifer so bad have him voice Venom Snake and that would have made the whole reveal at the end even better, but yeah he is a Hollywood worshiper

Wasn't the reason he didn't hire Hayter was because MGSV Snake was a fake snake.
Fake snake not having the OG VA seems to have extra fourth wall brake.

Also it's a job. Nobody owes anyone anything.

Both Snakes were in the game. If the reason was that the "real" Snake isn't the protagonist then they could hire Hayter for a cameo as Ishmael and keep continuity
