I upgraded to the new Trillian release over the weekend (3.0 free), and for some reason, it has a weird feature enabled by default. Certain words are underlined in the IM window, and when you hover over them, it gives you the Wikipedia definition of the word!

So, in a perfectly innocuous conversation with someone trying to set up a coffee date for this afternoon, I have gotten the following words highlighted:

ya
hanging
lucky
today
Christmas
swing
afternoon
tongue
hall
yea
stan
pm
lobby
sitting
guards
haha

I think I might use this as a new, automatic poetry generation tool.

it's going to come out of you and it's going to taste so good
Reformated in pseudo-poetry format:

Ya hanging lucky today, Christmas!
Swing afternoon tongue?
Hall yea!
Stan pm lobby
Sitting guards
Haha

That's pretty good :p I think it should read:

Ya Hanging Lucky today, Christmas Swing!
Afternoon tongue?
Hall yea!
Stan PM
Lobby Sitting Guards
Haha

I was mulling over whether or not I should post that... but then I saw this:

wtf? haha

That gave me sufficient enough reason to contribute a comment on that at least :)

Odd avatar

If you don't know what the avatar is referring to, then yeah it would seem REALLY weird. It's still pretty weird even when you do know what it's about :D

After thinking about it for a bit, I began to wonder what kind of conversation would incorporate the words:

Hanging
Lucky
Swing
Tongue
Sitting

I think we all deserve an explanation here, jinx. Where's the full transcript?

I swear...it was a perfectly innocent conversation! I was supposed to go out for coffee with a friend at work last week, but we've both been too busy to take off for a while in the afternoon to chat. Since I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, this was a chance to catch up if she was free. "R7" is the building I work in, and the only other detail you'd need to know is that I earned the nickname "Kermie" for no apparent reason.)

Session Start (jinx90277:------): Mon Dec 20 09:35:23 2004

"Do you want a cup of coffee?" And if they go, "Ah… yeah, okay," then sex is on, yeah? That's the unwritten rule.
