You know...some people are just insane and just snap one day. I think that is what this woman did:

(12/06/04 - ST. AUGUSTINE, FL) — A woman ran over two teenage brothers after they accidentally hit her sport utility vehicle with a golf ball they were bouncing in a parking lot, officials said. One of the boys suffered life-threatening injuries.

The 14- and 16-year-old boys were bouncing the golf ball in a shopping center parking lot Sunday afternoon when it went astray and struck the SUV driven by 47-year-old Kathy Feaganes Allen, sheriff's Deputy Greg Suchy said.
No damage was done, and the boys apologized and began to walk away, Suchy said. Allen started to drive away, but suddenly made a U-turn, ran over a median and struck the teens before knocking over a light pole, Suchy said.

A witness said that after the SUV came to rest, Allen got out of the car and smoked a cigarette with the boys lying on the ground in pain.

No no, you're missing the point. The person's only a hero if they're an elderly black man with two daughters, and one is threatened but not actually raped by a punk white boy. That guy then runs off with his friends. It's like getting served. Once you get served and you serve them back ... it's ON.

Seriously though, it's an annoying double standard. Both the old hag and crazy man from the other story should be punished.

When you buy an SUV you buy one knowing:

In an impact with a pedestrian you are more likely cause a fatality.
In an impact with another vehicle you are more likely to cause death to others.
In an impact you are more likely to flip your vehicle and die yourself
You will contribute to global warming up 70% more than other road users.
You will generate up to 300% the volume on non-biodegradable waste during your vehicle’s lifespan.

So. You buy your SUV knowing as a fact that you are more likely to die and kill others as well as fuck up the planet.

So by applying the simplest of logic, those buying SUV’s must be mentally unstable.

I know what the other story is, and while not condoning running over people, you do have to realize there is a difference between the two stories to show its not a double standard.

In once case, a father was threatened with his daughters getting raped while he was held up at gunpoint.

In the other, a golf ball was either bounced or thrown at a passing SUV with NO DAMAGE.

Can you spot the difference?

There's a difference, but both are criminals. Just in one case it was a man using criminal actions to deal with criminals, and the other's a case of an insane "churchgoer" dealing with two innocent boys. There was no damage in the situation involving the insane vigilante ... unless you count the young man torn apart and the stress the father most likely will put his daughters through should he be put away for his crimes. If you're talking about THAT damage, then just ignore this post ;)
