Check out the Nintendo Switch Release Date Trailer for Hitman: Absolution, the hit third-person stealth action shooter developed by IO Interactive. Players will embody an Agent 47 that's been betrayed by his own and is being hunted by the feds. Progress from mission to mission on the go in Hitman: Absolution, launching on November 13 for Nintendo Switch.

Its certainly the worst Hitman, but that's not actually a bad thing since all of them are amazing. It's just more linear than the rest.

This feels like a game that should've released when the Switch launched in 2017. This makes me think Hitman 3 did pretty well on Switch 2.

Wasn't it quite the opposite? Until Blood Money the world ran like clockwork and you had to follow to its timing in everything. While Absolution has a world that is just running, so all more randomly and also more tools to kill in various ways. I liked Blood Money and Absolution equally and certainly more than Contracts or Silent Assassin which were just ultrajanky in some moments.
The game wasn't very well received by fans, but I love it. Have fun, Switch owners!
Yep, the game is fun and a remaster certainly still looks fine enough today, whereas the HD collection stuff would be a harder sell.

It's been ages since I played it but I remember it being very scripted and linear, so much that a lot of missions youre forced into cover, like the hotel, escaping from cops, etc. Disguises barely helped and had to adhere to a single path.

Wtf i s the point of releasing this shitman game now? Fuck off with this trash
There are a couple or a bit more useless linear levels but it's not that different in gameplay to any other previous Hitman outside the most shitter story?

The disguise system was totally messed up in this one. Disguise yourself as a cop and every cop can detect you, so you can only fool civilians. There were some good levels - I remember the shooting range and the courthouse. The sexy nuns in a cornfield.

You just had to stay hidden all the time, so it didn't feel like Hitman at all. There's no hiding in plain sight here, it's all sneaking. I wouldn't mind playing it again, though.

The linear levels aren't many. Ah well yeah now I understood what meant linear: the assassinations "method". In all honesty I'm never been a big "user" of the enviroment accidents or poison that why I didn't perceived a massive downgrade in the gameplay design. Rethinking about it, aside the scripted levels, there is more variety compared Bloody money in the more "opened" area.

If there is still no gyro aiming I certainly won't be giving them my business. It's really not that hard to implement and it completely transforms the gameplay.

Well, I didnt hate it. It was just different, but then again, my bias for stealth if functional can be high. I also enjoyed the modern Thief. The mansion, the bank heist levels were really good. I should replay it someday.

I like it somehow, I'm conscious it's not flawless and the linear levels are useless as the story incredibly stupid, but I replay it sometimes and I don't think it's that shit as many people suggest.

I played the HD collection and Absolution in a couple of days in one rather big lttp Hitman phase. Everything might have blurred a bit and I hardly remember most missions anymore, which had which, but my overall opion on each was that the originals required an acquired taste to stomach the line of sight bugs and narrow windows in which you stayed unspotted. Those were more about figuring out a path, and repeating it ad nauseum until you had the timing down, while Absolution allowed you to stay more naturally on mission without adhering religiously on one path. At least for trophies. Without either can probably played very differently.

About time that I play the recent Hitmans, I don't even know which one I have access to.

Sorry but the last thing I want to see on Switch 2 is ports of fucking PS3 games.

Why didn't you port to Switch 1 instead?

Edit: oh, this is Switch 1

Why do people hate this hitman so mutch?. I like it better then the last one. Is it because it was more linear or something.

It's not such a bad game. I replayed the PS4 port a few years back and platinumed it with a smile on my face. It certainly helps that there's a whole lot of interesting locations in the game.

Linear, focused on being more action based, peak bloom and brown filter graphics phase, disguise system is broken, tonal change from the series, they wanted to change the voice of 47 to be more "Hollywood" by hiring an actor from California but reverted that change due to fans demanding David back, the Nun Assassin Squad, and lots more.

The fuck are you talking about, its a great game

Give me what you're smoking today, papi

Absolution has some cool moments, and it looks nice, and the cast is fantastic.

It's just too bad it's a terrible fucking Hitman game. Remember the checkpoint system? Holy shitballs :messenger_dizzy: :messenger_grinning_smiling: :messenger_grinning_smiling: :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Yes I see people claiming that is a terrible Hitman and I agree to a certain degree that is not the best Hitman or it doesn't represent the strength of the franchise but its still a damn good game with amazing set pieces and very good gameplay.

Because it's a terrible Hitman game.

- borked disguise system
- trying too hard to be a movie like story
- wacky characters including a dude that is cartoonishly huge
- most missions were short and super linear
- not even enough "kill target" missions
and much more...

There's fun to be had with it, but man was it disappointing.

Its crazy the revisionism Im hearing in this thread.

Absolutions is the lowest point gameplay wise and the highest point artstyle wise.
I wish new Hitman would ditch the PG13 Bond aesthetic they took on since 2015.

I really enjoyed it 🤷‍♂️

Gameplay was fun and the locations were great.

Not really a Hitman game, but a very fun Hitman-themed stealth/action third person shooter that actually shits on a lot of the ones that release today. Worth a spin if you like the genre.

I get why people hated it on launch, but urge people to go back and play it just as an action / stealth TPS romp. There's a lot of polish and fun to be in that arena.

It's a nice game from 2012, I played it via the PS5 store

it's declared a stealth game but with improved cover fire, and sensing enemies you can presumably play Hitman Absolution as a third person shooter.

Overall I like many prefer Hitman 2016, but absolution along with blood money are good games.

For those asking why, it's cos the Switch 1 has an absolutely massive install base, a lot of which didn't own a PS3 or 360, games from that gen are pretty easy to port to it.
It's more a matter of "why not?"

Yeah it's a good action game, but it's not a Hitman game, it was playing this part where I was really questioning what the fuck is even going on

Even though it's the worst in the series, it's still a great game. Id buy a complete hitman collection for modern platforms. My favourite was and still is silent assassin. Because I'm old.
