Why is it that..

Soul Blade MUSIC > Soul Calibur MUSIC > Soul Calibur 2 MUSIC
Tekken 2 MUSIC > Tekken 3 MUSIC > Tekken 4 MUSIC

?

I mean, isn't better hardware supposed to mean better music? Why was the music from Tekken 2 and Soul Blade SO much better(as in thought out, complex, and inspired) than their sequels? Did the same composers work on all the games or did they change them up?

By the time I got to SC2 I had stopped paying attention to music, but in the Soul Blade days I could tell you what stage every track belonged to... that includes Arcade, Arranged, and Khan Super Session!

Goes for everything. SotN > LoI > any GBA Vanias (duh)
Xenogears > Xenosaga > Xenosaga 2 (from what little I've heard, and certainly when it comes to main vocal themes)
FF7/FF8 > FF9 > FF10 > FFX2 > FF11
Suikoden 2 -> Suikoden 3 > Suikoden 4?

Or maybe it's just that PSone games had extraordinary music in general. Must be those sweet black discs. Or maybe it's because the old musicians are getting tired and being replaced?

Oh, and:
SF2 > SFA2 > SFA3 > SF3 > SF3:TS > MvC2 > CvS2 > CFE
