Hey guys, I am in a FHL Sim League with a friend of mine that works with Ubisoft so I got in but I was wondering if you guys here would be interested in doing one?

This is the software we would need:

http://www.fhlsim.com/

It costs $25, though. So maybe we could all chip in in an paypal account to be able to purchase it. I'd be willing to create the league with the help of someone for a website etc.. The software does pretty much everything for you, you just need to do the updates.

At least 20 teams would be great. Anyone interested?

I'm starved for hockey and all... but i dont get the whole sim thing.

Someone should have started an AHL fantasy league.... or maybe a CHL one :lol

This is way better. You get to draft your team, make trades, offer contracts, deal with price tickets, free agency etc..

It's way awesome, I'm having a blast so far.

We'd need 20 peeps, a 20 teams league is great, that's the size of the one I'm in now. If we all chip $1.25 we'd have the software for it or maybe someone here got it already, who knows.

There's so many hockey fans on this board, I don't see how we couldn't run a fun and successful league.

Btw we start the league with a fantasy draft, it's way better that way.

I'd be interested, just wondering how it works exactly... do we all need the software or what...?

All a GM needs is the gm editor wich is 100% free.

Before the leagu starts we have a fantasy draft to pick our players for our teams and from then on it's like running a real nhl team. You do the pre-seasons, contract negociations, trades, drafting, finances like your ticket prices, you need to deal with a salary cap etc...

It's really great if everyone participates.

Sign me up, I'd like to be the Sabres....

I assume that we'll be able to work this in such a way that we don't need to have 20 people all at the same place online at one time?

My work schedule generally never works with anyone else's in anything :)

It's not that involving once the teams have been drafted. Only a few minutes a day to send your lines when you play or to send trade offers or to respond to them up to an hour or so, depends how bad you want that stanley cup :)

I'm gonna use this thread to point out that the Canada/USA women's hockey final yesterday was the best hockey game I've seen since the men's Olympic final two years ago. If you've got a chance to watch it somehow, I'd highly recommend it.

Other points:

Might add a cap floor of 32 millions, 32 floor 42 cap
Draft will be generated through random.org
No trades until the pre-season is started
FAs determined by agents that we will assign
We need to do a prospect draft before we start a season
There is a max of players on pro and farm but we might have to ignore the farm restriction for the first season as we won't have a lot of prospects depending how many rounds we do
