Remember this thing? People were going ga-ga over it when it was revealed last year.

Well, it's now coming to the US.

Here's the ebgames.com listing. $39.99, October 31 release.

Add gyro-rectum action and you have yourself one certified Revolution controller.

I need this. It will look so out of place in my room but I need this :D
When's Dragon Warrior being released in the US?

This controller looks cool, but otherwise, it's pretty much crap. I'm surprised they're even bothering to bring it over, honestly...

I thought u were really into getting one of these???

I'm still gonna buy it, though I've heard some mixed things about it. Still, it's DQ...

Crap in what way johntv? Crap in an I can't play shit with this sort of way?...or crap in a it doesn't look good sitting on a shelf kinda way. Cause I'm only really interested in the latter.

Does this mean Hori finally has some real distribution in North America? Allegedly it's been selling products domestically since last year, but I've only seen them at little known Internet stores.

Crap as in after 10 mins with it I promise you will unplug it and put in on the shelf while you plug your DS2 back in.

The controller in unusable for games, the d-pad angle is horrible; the buttons are crappy, the triggers are in bad positions, and the analogues are loose and angled badly.

Ask any of us in Japan if it's a good controller for playing games and no one is going to tell you yes.

I kinda like it because it looks nice on the shelf. But at $40 (Japanese one was $30 IIRC), you better ask yourself if you want to spend $40 for a display item before you blow the money.

This would look great on my shelf or on my tv, but just by looking at it, I don't think I would use it as a controller. I'll probably still end up buying it though.

FUCKING AWESOME.

I have no doubt when some of you say it's uncomfortable as fuck, but I still want one. Plus, my girlfriend REALLY wanted one, and I was pretty close to giving up on a US release and getting one off Ebay which would have been a small fortune.

people spend way more than that on actual display items, so I wouldn't say it's totally retarded. Besides, you could still have fun with it, like having a fighting game party and whoever gets shamed the most has to use it for the rest of the night or something! JUSTIFIED

Exactly how many games are in this controller?

I never own the "Dragon Quest" series. Can someone post boxart pixs of 8 installments?

Thanks!

But still no Slime Morimori... FUCK YOU, SQUENIX. Maybe hell will freeze over and they'll change their minds, or maybe Atlus or Nintendo will pick it up, but the best I can realistically hope for is probably a fan translation of the ROM in a few years.

Translation is here, it's no where near complete, but it's nice to know that one of the most prolific translators has it covered...

The original game you can play without knowing much in the way of Japanese, as well.

djtesto who's doing it?

They say they need a translator, but Tomato (the guy who did the SO1 translation) and Shih Tzu did the intro... Really hope it gets somewhere. Hopefully Ian Kelley will take an interest, he has done an excellent job on games in the past, for AGTP and is also a big DQ fan.

I used this controller at the Sony booth, and I liked it. I'll be picking this one up (along with the game).

I vote for a flood of all the past Enix games we've been snubbed on, followed by a company name change to Enix-Square.

I wonder how hard it would be to translate DQ4 remake on PSX?
*sigh* its sad when fans make translations, who are not paid, yet the company can't spend some money to do it.

fyi, no bundle pack with DQ8. :\ Hori told me no.

You break my heart. I find it kinda tough to justify blowing $40 bucks on a novelty shelf trinket...

The back of DWVII's manual taunts me to this day.

Don't remind me. Twould be awesome to get a DQ4r and DQ5r compilation at some point, however. Not f-cking likely, I know, but still... *sighs*

That's what happens when a game doesn't sell as well as they were expecting. Alot has got to be riding on DQ8's sales, especially with all the work they're putting into making the US version appeal more to the US audience.

I hope it does well, the graphics are a good start to increase US sales (Points at all the graphics whores)

Maybe, just maybe, if it does well we might see a compilation port of DQ4 and DQ5 remakes before the end of the PS2

I think he's talking about the convo we had with Square PR at the Sony party. Or the conversation I had with Yuji Horii at E3. One of those.

It's what happens when the programming studio folds and you know you're going to merge with another company and are going to be closed up. Of course, the last part is speculation but meh it wasn't because of the sales as I recall.
