Horror game recommendations?

It's Halloween time again and I was hoping some of you had some good horror games that maybe I haven't played a few less mainstream are welcome as long as it's on Xbox or PS4.

Played all Res Evil, TLoU 1 and 2, Amnesia games, Little Nightmare games, Still Wakes the Deep and both Alan Wake games.

I just finished a revisit to Doom 3, that's pretty good. I'd also recommend Signalis, the Dead Space remake, and the Ghostbusters Game.

Darkwood and Condemned are awesome

Until Dawn is fun
Outlast
The Evil Within 1 and 2
Tormented 1 and 2 (coming next week I think)
Course Silent Hill
Inside
Soma
Stay out of the house (AMAZING Gem!!)
Killer Frequency (another gem)

A few I played this year (old ones), White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation and The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication. If you play Inside play also Limbo (though they aren't _that_ horror). I got queued a few Fatal Frame ones (Maiden of Black Water and another I can't remember right now), Ikai, Remothered: Tormented Fathers and Remothered: Broken Porcelain.

Going to the off topic forum in Resetera is an horror game in itself

Jokes aside, I would say go for Visage. You'll shit your pants

I add these:

Crow Country (if you want a survival horror challenge, hard mode is the real normal mode)
Withering Rooms (horror rpg with survival horror elements, I'm almost finished and it's very unique, tense and fun)
Song of Horror (playable characters have permadeath and there's a lot of instakill situations. Not a problem to me and if you don't care go ahead, it's fantastic, but there's an easy mode that diables permadeath if it's too much for you).
Alisa
Murder House
Mortuary Assistant (short but very replayable and you won't get the full picture in a single playthrough)
Detention
The Nun Massacre (Stay Out of the House is better, but still...)
Fran Bow (it's a poin'click game, I don't know if you like this)

Fran Bow, damn that game is like SAD AS FUCK. Good game. But damn

While I agree with Alien: Isolation and Signalis. Maybe I can interest you in going back to the OG (or at least one of the OGs): Alone in the Dark from 1992.

Plus one.

If you have any Xbox One or beyond console, Condemned 1 is BC and it runs with an unlocked frame rate.

Condemned has a 45fps framerate cap, so it's not really unlocked.
And capping a game at a non-divisible number on 360 wasn't possible, so they used irregular frame delivery to achieve it.
That carries over to the BC version. It tries to stay at 45fps, but it's above and below quite rapidly. I tried on three different displays with different VRR implementations. I even tried it on my One X, since that uses the older Freesync 2 system. None of them looked smooth during gameplay.
I got the best result from running in a 120hz container with VRR turned off.

Unlocked over 30*

Played on the Series X last year and it holds the 45 locked, it's within the VRR window so it feels much more smoother than a 30.

If OP has a Series console, performance on 120hz/VRR won't be an issue.

Probably already mentioned but Alan Wake!

That reminds me that I still need to start with Alan Wake 2, bought it like two or three years ago, sheesh.

Pathologic 2. You play a doctor in a mysterious town with an initially incomprehensible culture that is stricken with an extremely virulent plague shortly after your arrival. 10/10 writing and atmosphere, with a bit of that good old fashioned slavjank.

It's one of my top 3 games of all time.

It is stressful to play.
