The fidelity of the two pictures is so far apart. Makes me wonder if they have no relevance to what Hot Shots Golf 5 will look like on the PS3...

*as already been said, the top picture looks like its from HSG3 or 4
 
well those look nice, but if the past has tought me one thing, that would be to never ever trust a sony picture/video bevor i saw it playing right in front of me on actual hardware.

bottom pic looks really nice, but this is one game due to its style that will not really look "OMG Next GEN!!!!" in the graphics dept.
 
Doesnt really look bad especially with AA and highresolution. I dont expect a life like style, wich also would make it look stupid.
 
HSG Fore! has some good visuals, its very stylized (as has already been said). I think with the new iteration, to grow the series, the visuals would have to change a nice amount to usher it into next gen visuals. Sort of how Mario seems to have this issue. It will be interesting to see how the HSG team tackle this issue.
 
Where did the second pic come from? I can't find it on the Clap Hanz site?

Edit: I'm pretty sure the 2nd pic is a photograph.

Yeah, the quality of both doesn't line up.
 
This is really a crockshit of nonsense from PS3Gaming. These aren't even screenshots, they're part of a flash banner saying "Hot Shots Golf 5 coming soon to PS3!" and that's it. It could be concept art, or placeholder art or whatever. It's sad what websites will do for a story these days. :P
 
I've a few doubts these two pictures are representative of the PS3 game.They seem more like concept screens of the series in general.
 
I just remember somone in the other thread saying they should finally put online play in for HS 5... DERP! lol

If you want to remain a poster here, and ever make it past Junior Member status, don't post offtopic stuff just because you can't start threads yet, contribute on-topic and you get the ability to soon enough, do that again and you never will.
 
I'll be happy if they, from Fore!,...

...even just minorly improve the environmental graphics.

...vastly improve the character models. They're low-poly and ugly compared to the environments.

...get rid of the "floating island" thing for individual holes. It's like the current hole being played is floating in a giant cube with background wallpaper unconnected in the distance. I want to see the adjacent holes.
 
In the desperate rush to be first with PS3 news, some sites are pushing any little tease they can as big news. Those two pics are literally a generation apart. One looks like the current-gen HSG games (which I agree with every rock fucking hard) and the other looks like it could just as easily be a photograph. Hopefully there's something new at Taipei, or god help us all. PEACE.
 
hahahaha, the first pic is the one I did 2 days ago here with copy+paste from the official homepage's flash intro (it's the same pic, I did it fast and the borders are not clean XD) . OF COURSE, not confirmed to be a real ingame HG for PS3 ¬_¬U

I completely agree, except that I wouldn't call it fake, since NOBODY ever claimed it to be a screenshots...

And indeed, if it was for the graphics, nobody would NEVER play HSG (except some water effects, HSG Fore* could probably be a dreamcast game). Nice art, very very low polycounts, awfull sprites for crows, bad texturing, and so on.

But still, it's the game currently in my PS2, and I don't care at all.


* I think it's Fore, I speak about the online title published in Europe last october.
 
I don't know what to expect.

It's not like HSG is particularly known for its graphics.

Some grass and nice water effects coupled with cartoony characters would be about right.

If it's not from GameSpot, IGN or official publisher's site there's a pretty fat chance it's fake.

PS3Insider.com, PS3.net. PS3World.com, PS3Forums.org etc. aren't believable sources.

There's been a whole lot of this "posting info from unreliable sources" going on, as of late. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that's getting sick of it.

edit: toying around with it in photoshop it does sort of look like a photo, but something about it still doesnt seem right. its been doctored

the bark is a giveaway it's a photograph. Look closer.

Look at the street. Look at the house across the street in particular the front lawn. Look at the vehicle sitting on the road. Look at the shadows on the street. Look at the person half a kilometer in the distance.

Look at the grass underneath the trees

Videogames has always been about smoke and mirrors. There is no use to model it and put in real time in the game if is going to be just a poorly visible background.

But certainly this is not the game to show the amazing and outrageous power of the second coming of ch... err of the Playstation 3.

And the images are so poorly informative, it could be any thing but actual screenshots of the game. You can keep the guns hidden until a more proper moment.
 
Wow, I was no paying attention, I thought we were speaking of the crappy background of the first image.

The second is of course a damned photo, what does that here?
