Don't forget the Fury 3 demo!

For the record, what was the difference between Fury 3 and Terminal Velocity?

I always assumed at least a little of the content had to be different, but I dunno. Maybe Fury 3 didn't run in DOS like TV did.

Damn, I played that a lot.
Until I got a real game for my PC (Tie Fighter, woo!)

Ha, I remember that. Only played it like, 5 minutes before getting bored.

Terminal velocity was cool. Although I think TV and Fatal Racing were my first 2 PC games, maybe that's why I was so impressed with them :)

Wow my brain almost stalled and crashed looking at that picture!!!
Talk about nostalgia!!!

And I thought I was the only one in the world who loved Terminal Velocity!!!!

Terminal Velocity was awesome for its time. Great game!
I remember playing this with friends using a null-modem cable, great times. Terminal Reality was a great developer before the 3D accelerator arrived, now they certainly do not stand out anymore.

I gave my old Win95 computer to my grandparents, and my grandfather became a Hover addict.

Hover appeals to all ages, making it one of the best crummy freeware PC games of all time. :D

LOVED Hellbender.

And Gillian Anderson did the voice of the computer.

It didn't get much better than that.

Thanks, Blimster! What's this Hellbender I'm hearing about?

I'll tell you if you tell me what the deal with that #$#% cat in your avatar is.

its another fury 3 / terminal velocity type game

Yeah, all three games were by the same developer. Actually, now that I think about it, Hellbender was probably the one to get the Direct3D treatment.

Nothing will beat MechWarrior 2 with hardware accelerated graphics though.

god damn is there a site with all of these oldschool games for download for free?

loved fury and hellbender. i think hellbender was a sequel to fury 3 basically. man those were awesome times.
fury was basically a souped up terminal velocity. higher res, gillian anderson as the computer etc.
i remember the first time i booted up the game, and as the voice started "ambient temperature xx degree celcius, all systems normal..." i was like "WHOAAAAAA"

Ah, Hover. What a long time ago that was.

P.S. Microsoft sure does have a way with technology names... "wince", "whinge" ...

Hover was one of those games that gave me that "wonder" of 3d gaming when I was a kid, as it was the first 3d game I ever played. It was one of those "OMG this is deep" moments as a gamer.

Now looking back...... :lol :lol :lol

It is quite the turd.

I played Hover, Terminal Velocity, and Microsoft 3D Movie Maker on my dad's Acer Aspire Win95 computer.

I used to play Hover, the Fury 3 demo, MechWarrior 2, and Havoc demo all the time. I had that Windows 95 disc with all the demos on it. Fire & Ice was another one I recall. Had a Doom '95 demo as well.

Oh man, those were the days...

BTW, has anyone ever heard of a game called Cyberia? And if so, how do you beat it?
If that's the on-rails FMV "shooter" that I seem to recall, then you win by not playing it.

When I was a kid - well, 16 - I somehow got onto the beta for Hellbender, applied through a webpage. MS sent me a copy, and after three months it made it to my home in the UK, having made its way via sea mail :lol
