I've seen The Shins live a few times over the last couple of years in venues ranging in size from small rooms to huge open air amphitheatres. They're full of energy and put on a great show, well worth your money.

They put on a fun show. Energetic and surprisingly rockin'.

But then I have friends who think they are the most boring live band on the planet, so who knows.

Really??? I would have gone had I known about this before!!!! NooooooooOOOooo! =(

Does ticketmaster not show everything?

EDIT: hmmm.. the 19th...
EDIT2: I'm also pissed off about the lack of good (imo) bands coming to Ottawa. =(

They're going to be here real soon in Milwaukee.. I was thinking about checking them out but it's been kind of busy.

I'd go too, but I won't for the lack of knowing anyone that knows of them =(

We had plenty of good concerts last year. Sonic Youth, Wilco, The Pixies. And I somewhat manage to miss them all. =( =( =(

by the way

I have a ticket for the Toronto show that I won't use. [Well, I'm supposed to. Stupid Ticketmaster never sent the email out.]

If somebody wants it , I will follow-up with Ticketmaster.

I just got back from their show and it was great. They actually exceeded my expectations and even played some new songs, which were also excellent.

It was definitely worth it because i had a blast

the shins are pretty good. james mercer is a jerk though.

You know, last year at Sasquatch I hung out with Mercer for a while after their autograph session, and he was actually pretty nice and personable, but he had also put back about ten bottles of Budweiser, so that might explain why.

Will they ever play in the UK? I would pay some good money to see them and there are probably a few of us that would.

They played in NZ about 3-4 months back so I don't think they are travelling-averse

*looks pointedly at radiohead :(

They rock live as well sound pretty close to their record. I saw them in a small venue which I think suited them perfectly.

I saw The Shins about a year and a half ago for free. Some dude gave me an extra comp ticket and I checked it out (shortly after Chutes was realeased). The place was like half full, and tickets were $12. They sold out 2 shows at $25/ticket last summer (WITH FUCKING CALEXICO OPENING FUCK I HAD TO WORK). I hear there's a higher concentration of white-capped douchebags at their shows lately, though.
