How are wireless headphones/earphones coming along?

Are the sound qualities good on these? I hate having wired headphones because it is inconvenience and I hate having to unwrap.

You think unwrapping is inconvenient?

Imagine not being able to listen because you didn't charge.

That said, if that's what you're looking for, you'll find them sufficient.

If you're looking for good sound quality, looking for wireless Bluetooth headphones isn't the direction to look.

I have the beatsX and the lack of a cord to my device is a revelation. It's pretty incredible how freeing it is, even though those aren't truly wireless (they still have a cord running to a type of neck band).

Quality wise, yeah it's probably not the most amazing, but I'm no audiophile. All I wanted was cordless, small/convenient, and in-ear sealing (noise isolation). these were perfect.

Yeah, charging them is an added inconvenience, but in balance with the other factors, a decent trade off. Another inconvenience is having to turn them on and off.

I know there are some like the AirPods, which solves that problem a bit better by having a charging case and by having out on and shut off justly wearing them - they really did try to consider the best solutions to making them just like regular earbuds.

That said, there are a few ways the beatsx tries to mitigate the same issues: 1) it has a decent battery life of 8 hours per charge; 2) it uses a lightning port so it's convenient to me who has an iPhone - just charge using my same cable; and 3) has a quick charge function, that when empty, a 5 minute charge will net 25%/2 hours of use.

They are great if you are willing to spend money on them.

A friend of mine has a Sony WH 1000X and the sound quality is fantastic (I'm no expert though, but they sounded way nicer than any I've ever owned) , the noise cancelling is great and while I don't know exactly how good the battery life is my friend says he generally only charges them once a week and uses them daily on his way to work.

I personall use the Bose Soundsport (the older model). Got them some time ago for like $40 thanks to a combination of different promotions. I find them really comfortable and the sound quality is nice. Not mindblowing but definitely a cut above the standard iPhone in-ears I was using before. The battery life is pretty bad though at around 5 hours and there have been times I've wanted to use them only to realize that I forgot to charge them.

If you have an Apple phone I recommend Powerbeats 3 if you might use them for exercise, BeatsX if you just need them for regular use. They connect instantly and are effective for a decent sized area. I love them personally, could never go back to wired.

I have Powerbeats 3, paid 105 for them. 12 hours of battery life and a 5 minute quick charge for an hour playtime sold me. It makes having another thing to charge painless.

I got the SkullCandy Method wireless ear buds for xmas. I always kinda liked the sound of skullcandy and these last me all day work. Was on sale for $30 or so and the best under $100 wireless set I have had yet. Tried a lot of the anker and mpow ones but these have yet to fail me and sound great with everything. Not sure how they stack up against the INKD and other ones but the reviews for them all are great. Most of the cheaper odd brand ones stopped working in one or both after a month or so. Also the ones that are just a wire suck because if you do one ear like I do for work they pull so much they just fall out.

For some reason Bluetooth headphone manufacturers seem to think that a very bright flash every 2 seconds and piercingly loud tones every time you hit the volume endpoints are a good idea, so I'd say bad.

All in all I like my wireless headphones but shit like that just annoys the hell out of me. Terrible design decisions for those particular brands (HESH and Jam Transit)

I purchased a pair of Sony WF1000x and they are OK. Not amazing, but not as bad as the reviews say. They sound great and they have okay-ish noise cancellation, which is great for the gym. Not proper gym headphones (not water resistant rated), but no problems so far.

I see this criticism pop up a lot when wireless headphones are discussed. Theoretically, it's a legitimate concern. In practice, I've never once encountered this as a real problem after years of using wireless headphones. Not.a.single.time. And even if you do come up against it from time to time, most have a wired option, assuming you have the cable rolled up and packed away in your bag as a backup option.

Great. I have the Bose Quietcomfort. I love them. That said, I do have a few technical issues with how they connect to multiple devices. Can be a bit weird from time to time. A brief power cycle (turning them off and back on again) or turning the bluetooth off and on to reconnect on my phone/laptop fixes the issue. Other than that, no issues. The inconvenience of that technical glitch is minuscule to the inconvenience of having cables, imo.

Amazing. Can't tell the difference between these and wired. Anyone who says otherwise is lying, even so called "audiophiles".

And noise cancelling is euphoric.

I got the SteelSeries Arctis 7 last week after taking the headphones off my oculus and concluding that more than one wire is unacceptable.

I really like them. The headband is a little tighter than i'd like, but everything else is great. Solid build, good sound quality, telescopic mic that you can hide away when not in use, two separate outputs for game audio and chat that you can mix with a knob on the headset, and a built-in passthrough for speakers so you can just turn off the headphones and have it auto-switch instead of dicking about in windows' sound settings. They're a massive quality of life improvement over my old wired cans + modmic solution.

Also having no wires to worry about is a total game-changer. No more accidental cord yanks, tanglement or any of that stuff. So good.

Bose owner with username The Mule claiming that nobody can tell the difference? Checks out.

Every pair of headphones I've ever owned has sounded different. Any wireless set I've heard has never been 'just as good as wired'. If you're comparing your Bose set wired and wireless, yeah, I bet it does sound the same both ways.

Get Powerbeats 3. 12 hours of play time on a charge, and a quick charge that will give you an hour playback in 5 minute charge. I've gone two weeks without charging mine. Sound is not high end audio, but it's totally decent.

I was cleaning my akg earbuds that came with my s8+ because the left's volume was lower and I of course broke the mesh and messed them up. It works but I instantly noticed the difference since there's no reduction now and in long run it will probably get worse with dust getting in more easily.

I've been contemplating getting wireless earbuds for a while, the cord has always been slightly annoying but lately more so, especially when I'm up and about in public transport, walking places etc. So I've spent a while trying to find what's the best buy and I can't seem to find that... Everyone's recommending different products, all have some flaws and I'm not sure what to go for. Plus they're expensive as hell currently. Are there maybe any promising upcoming ones? Should I wait and deal with my earbuds until something amazing comes out or is there something good now. I'm not an audiophile but I appreciate quality and half the time I listen to audiobooks if that makes a difference, not mostly, still do listen to music but the difference in volume really became apparent in the audio book today.. Also once I broke the mesh that one is now louder than the other one, driving me insane.
