How can I reset data on Mario Kart for GBA?

StoOgE

First tragedy, then farce.
So, I went to Gamstop to take advantage of the buy two get one free used game deal. Polarium and Pac Pix were gone, but I nabbed Yoshi Touch and Go then decided to get some GBA games... grabbed Yoshi's Island (I let my younger cousins borrow my entire SNES collection at one point, and they now deny they ever borrowed it, so it along with about 40 other games are MIA).. and was going to get Super Mario World (see above) but at the last second decided to get Mario Kart so I wouldnt have 100% platformers. the game is alot of fun, not as good as the original game, but I like it better than MK64...

problem is, I cant find a way to reset the data on the game.. which means Im prolly going to be taking it back and getting something else unless one of ya'll can help me.

According to my manual, you need to hold L, R, B and Start when you first power on. Then choose yes when prompted.

Edit - Fucking sucks about your SNES collection. I'd find a way to go over there and challenge them in person. Search their rooms and shit.

Thanks a ton, one of the downsides to buying used : no manuals.

and yeah, I was pissed about the SNES thing, but that happened back when I first got my Saturn.. they are poor and never had games so I let them borrow it for a year or so, Saturn hit a slump, went to get it back and they denied they ever got it. Good chance their mom pawned it off.

I once lost about 300 NES/SNES/N64/Genesis/GB/GBC games plust about a hundred strategy guides in a move, since a friend who was supposed to hold them for me temporarily bailed and left them at this parents place without telling me, and his parents threw it all away. Still pretty bitter about that one =/.

damn that sucks.

A mod should probably change the title to "Has your game collection ever been stolen/lost by a friend/family member" now that my question has been answered.

not lost or stolen, but when i moved to NY, i kept my snes/genesis/gba stuff, but gave away my NES and collection to my cousin...

then a few years later when i talk to him, i find out he squandered them away, i dunno what or where or how...

*cry cry*

G-d damn. That hurts me like a kick to the f-cking balls. So sorry...

Heh, thanks. Luckily when I got together with my girlfriend, she had probably a good 50-60% of the games that I'd lost that were actually really worth having, and for the most part over the past couple years I've managed to re-pick up almost everything that's worth having, except for a few of the pricier SNES games (Earthbound comes to mind), but I'm kinda holding out for possible Revolution downloads on those.

What I actually miss the most is the strategy guides, since I had stuff like Suikoden 2, Persona 2, ToD 2, stuff like that. I don't mind spending cash to re-buy games, but 40 or 50 for a guide hurts, and I can't quite bring myself to do those ones.

Come on, I'm sure other people have horror stories.

I uhh... once had my copy of Ultima III Exodus for the NES stolen. I was really broken up about it. (I was very young, and it was my favorite NES game at the time.)
