How can one go about recycling glass bottles for like beer and mineral water?

We don't get ours picked up anymore - only plastic and paper. Something about it not being cost effective. So we drop them off at the local supermarket, where they have a drop off point.

I'm in the UK, but if you want to post them over I'll drop them off for you :P
 
If you don't have street side pickup then there should be recycling centers somewhere in your area. When I lived in NY the grocery stores had recycling centers you could turn in cans and bottles.
