I didn't have to do parallel parking when I took my driving test. Good thing too cause I'm not very good at it!

>>>On my driving test I got to parallel park with a car in front of me but none in back! LOL<<<

Pfft. That's called a lane change...
Anyway, I didn't parallel park or go on the freeway during my driver test.

Pull ahead of the parking space, go backwards slowly, looking over your right shoulder (assuming you're in America). When you see the back of the parked car in that little triangular window (that doesn't roll down), turn your wheels all the way left. Pull into the spot, and straighten out. This is all from memory, so I may be off a little, but it's something like that.

rofl, I just searched on google and didn't even watch it. I just watched it now and that is pretty good for going all fast and all.

In Ontario there is a graduated licensing system
G1 is a MC test
G2 is a road test
G is a road test where you also go on the highway

I am going for my G next Friday...almost 5 years after I got my G2 lol

I do that, but turn the wheel to the left when my passenger side mirror passes the front car. Same thing, just a slightly different reference point.

I don't think it's possible to be in a worse situation than I was the first time I took my license test. I had only been driving a few times, no lessons, and my father insisted I take the test to see how I'd do. Parallel parking was the first part of the test...I had never, ever parallel parked in my life. I didn't have a fucking clue where to begin.

The person administering the exam told me to come back after I practiced a bit.

That's what I have been taught too. But after turning your wheels all the way left, pull back until the car is about 45 degree of the spot, turn the wheel all the way to the right to straighten the car...works everytime for me :)

I come up on the opposite side of the road, jack it to the right, then cut it all the way to the left while applying the e-brake. I hit the curb and stop. Perfect park!
