Well, let me put it this way:

Running Betrayal at Krondor emulating DOS (using DosBox 0.6.1) and all the Sound Hardware (emulator included) produces smoother visuals than my laptop 1.5 GHz Celeron running the same game directly with VDM Sound (only Sound Blaster Emulation).

The FX 53 is slightly above the AMD 3800+. If we're talking about socket 939.

It dosn't have anything like Hyperthreading, but in all honesty it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day the FX53 is the fastest consumper chip you can buy, and the rest of the Athlon XP line seem to be as good as anything Intel has in the same price range.

all i know is my Athlon 64 3200+ is fast as crap....running new games with everything on 60 fps or more with a friggin geforce 4600 ti.
