how many hours a week do you spend playing games? please.

Just a rough estimate.

This question brought to you by my MATHS 125 Statistics Project.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

4 Hrs Console

6 Hrs Handhelds - I'm more of a burst gamer, I'll sit down and play a game for 15 minutes maybe twice a day.

Average 1 hour per day = 7 hours per week

If a new and awesome game is out, the number of hours usually doubles (or in the case of Halo 2, quadruple :lol )

I'd say roughly 8 although H2 might have increased that by about another 4-5 hours.

The second best dude in the rumble pit plays h2 for 3 hours a day....

I would say 7 or so. Roughly an hour each day. Used to be much more. My fiancee's brother gets at least a constant five hours in each day, and during the summer it's around 8-10.

Probably around 30.
It's like a second job.

Buddy, would it help your data to be able to classify the data in terms of age/profession/work status, et cetera? Or is your 125 thing just raw data?

somewhere between 20-30 hours a week. I usually play for an hour or 2 before work, and then another hour or so after work. On the weekend, I play 5-6 hours a day.

I play Day of Defeat 2 hours a day, every day. (Round it up to 15 hours for the week)

...and i still suck at it.

i usually only game every now and then, for extended periods of time.

lately, becasue of massive ammounts of school and work, the number of gaming events has dropped quite a bit, but i still get in a few hours for each.

so, i'd say about 2-3 events at maybe an average of 2-3 hours a piece... probably around 6 or seven/week

1-3 average

(DDR arcade, some smash, some Donkey Konga on Friday nights)...

plus since the game came out I've had a good 5-6 RE4 multi-hour sessions...

some weeks it's been probably 12 (RE4 sessions in there), others (like last week), it was about 30 min. off Feel the Magic...

I would guess 15 hours, not counting solitare or minesweeper. Actually, if I include flash games as well, make it 20 hours.

How many hours?... more than I should, less than I would like... house, kids, wife, job. Can I count GAF as a game? If so, 25. If not, 7.

Between 14-21 I'd say, on average.

I'm starting to save good single player adventures for condensed periods, on whch occasions I would add a good 20 hours on top of that. But that kind of thing is at best once a month.

It varies a lot. I spend a lot more time on the Internet than I do playing video games, and even when I'm playing video games it comes second to GAF and ICQ. For your project I'll say 5.

Probably less than 4, and I often go weeks without any gaming at all... it's REALLY bothering me because I have so many new games and a huge backlog :(

It depends really.

While it's usually not the case, sometimes I don't feel like playing much at all, maybe putting in 2 or 3 hours over a week's time. If I've got a compelling RPG, I can easily put away 30+ hours in a week. If it's a meaty sports game, like MLB or NFL, I can easily do 20+ for a while. If it's a shorter, replayable game like SF3: 3S, then it's around 10+ for a couple of weeks.

My gaming time is highly variable.

Considering again, 12 hrs/wk sounds more like it, discounting the rare "blown weekend" such as when RE4 first came out.

That has to come from somewhere though, and so TV viewing is down to 5 specific hours a week, unless one counts listening to CNN in the periphery as "viewing".

If there's a game out like RE4 or MGS3, then easily 3-5 hours a day. If I'm just playing something like Baten Kaitos or Suikoden IV, then more like 3-5 hours a week.

Lately it has been very low because of work and friends, I'm lucky to get 2 hours in a week. But that usually skyrockets when a brand new game comes out. Something like Metal Gear Solid 3 or Resident Evil 4 will make me play more than 30 hours a week. :lol

ZERO!

It's too f'ing cold to play games at home.

I managed to play through Ratchet & Clank 2 on the PSone LCD screen in my bedroom with the electric heater, but then I got this awful cold due to having to turn off the heater overnight so as to not start a fire.

Can't wait for summer. So I can enjoy my home without freezing my god damn balls off. >:|

Hmm, when my gaming/theater room is ready, I predict around 35-38 hours a week. But now, I don't game at all at my home, because my Television, although 65" Widescreen RPTV with component inputs, is just not satisfying me. I must not play any games until I get my projector!

My DS gets a lot of time though. At least 24 hours a week.
