How many people are there this year?

One reason why I decided to skip this E3 (besides cash to get over there) was simply because there were too many people on the floor. I mean, too many people who simply don't belong there. For an event that is supposed to be only for media/retailers/industry people, I saw too many kids and cosplayers.

So, does it still take you (at least) 30 mins just to play Zelda?

GDC is a lot calmer and a lot more interesting.

E3 really needs to start cracking down on who they let in, or just open admission up to the public and make it like Comic-Con.

Can anyone explain to me why retail clerks need to be allowed into an industry event? It seems like being allowed into a film festival because you work for Blockbuster.

The big problem is that all of the folks who get in this way tend to be the most excited by all of the free crap and attention-whoring of various exhibitors, which just contributes to E3 becoming more and more like a carnival every year. I'm only going to venture onto the show floor for one day this year, and I'll probably spend most of it standing in line at the major booths and struggling to walk through corridors crowded with overweight smelly people.

Something's got to change.

I thought they were supposedly being more strict about who gets in, cutting down on non-industry folk, etc this year?

Or do they say that every year?
