How reliable is Play-Asia?

I ordered Final Fantasy Advent Children from them, and according to an email I got, and their site, it was shipped the 13. I have yet to receive it. I choose the standard shipping. Where are they based anyway?

Believe me, it took like 19 days for a package of mine to arrive. It was biohazard 4, too. =(

With the exception of one minor issue, Play-Asia has been consistently excellent for me. They are my #1 online destination for import video games.

I ordered a Dreambox converter from them and got it in like two days. I ordered it early in the morning and they had it processed later that day.

It's only been a week. If you selected the cheapest shipping method, give it another week or so before worrying. It takes about 2 weeks for me to receive any orders from Play-Asia.

Another happy Play-asia patron here, haven't had a problem with them at all. Their shipping is fast (3-4 days to Australia), cheap, and their service is top notch.

If you paid for regular shipping, it's going to take several weeks for the package to reach you. I used to wait until there several items I wanted from them and paid the $20 charge for UPS shipping. Got packages from them within three days.

Play-asia is awesome but the general rule when ordering anything from HK or JPN is: EMS or BUST. It's definitely a lunch meal more but you'll have the package within 2-3 days and the tracking rocks.

Oh and the main reason to use EMS over UPS (besides being cheaper IIRC) is that EMS will deliver 7 days a week and on holidays! Since most games are shipped out thurs/friday, it's nice knowing that even if your package ends up in your hometown on the sunday you won't have to wait until monday to get it. Oh and if you miss the EMS guy, you can usually pick up the package at your local post office like 2 hours later. I think with UPS you have to wait until the next day.

Play-asia is my alternative to NCSX, and I love them just as much. They tend to process orders like the same day. And yes, always choose EMS or UPS world class for shipping. As Bebpo and others have said, standard shipping from asia will take at least 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Ordered from them only twice, both time using regular shipping (the cheapest thing). First time was Meteos, which got delivered in TWO days from Hong Kong to The Netherlands. Second parcel was Nintendogs, which took about two weeks... :-/

I've never had any problems with them. Get my DS tomorrow too. But for some reason I oredered my Micro (famicom) from them back on Sep first and the order is still being processed anyone else having this problem?

I've only ordered one thing from them, but if you chose the free/normal shipping, it's going to take awhile. Kinda sucks that the expensive shipping is the only way to have tracking, but even I got my item in a day and a half from there (they're based in Hong Kong, iirc).

i'd just like to take this moment to give a big shout out to the people at UK based ULTIMARC.COM.

I placed an order late tuesday last week for a PS2-> Jpac convertor, a PS2 vga output to Jpac , and a Xbox convertor

... the goods arrived first thing friday morning.

And work perfectly.

Uk -> Japan in 3 days. It would have taken that long from UK->UK

very happy.

My Kunoichi game ordered from Play-Asia came with a dead moth, sealed under the case's plastic, smashed against the back cover!

Yeah, a big part of the game consists of slashing giant insect demons
but this was quite unexpected.

When contacted about it, they seemed to think I was talking about the game's contents
or something and just asked me to email them again if I had any further questions! ^^;

Other than that, P-A has good customer service,
nice discounts, coupons and fast shipping. :D

I've never had a bad experience with Play-Asia. In fact, the only nearly bad experience was when I had a problem with my credit card (which was mostly my fault). I sent an email, explained my situation, got an email back in like 30 minutes with the perfect solution. I was really impressed.

As for shipping time, you get what you pay for (which has been mentioned in further detail).

Holy shit! :lol

Anyways, Play-Asia is very reliable imo. All the orders I made using regular shipping takes less than a week to arrive.

Sounds amazing. UK postal service is normally a joke.

Anyway, Play-Asia is great, but don't skimp out on the shipping.

I'm not a fan of Play-Asia ever since Sony successfully nobbled them into not shipping any PSP stuff to Europe.

Wasn't that Lik-Sang?

No. Lik-Sang were targeted by Sony as well because of their free worldwide UPS shipping deal on PSPs, but as far as I'm aware Sony's lawsuit was not successful. Either that or it's still ongoing, but I don't think Lik-Sang have restricted shipping of PSP stuff.

Regular shipping isn't too bad if you're on the US West Coast. I get my stuff usually in a week and a half. Hopefully I'll get my Ace Phoenix DS game that shipped on the 13th today.

I'm impatient so I'll usually pay for EMS. But I add my note of high satisfaction with Play-Asia, I've ordered quite a few items from them and have always been happy with the service.

Play-Asia is my number one choice when importing games from Japan, although Lik-Sang is good too. Unfortunately they don't ship most PSP products to the EU anymore (psp cases and certain other accesories are fine). Which isn't a problem with games as I can get them from Lik-Sang. Unfortunately I now have a harder time getting those region free porn UMDs (YES I ADMIT TO BUYING THEM). Perhaps the new ones will pop up on YesAsia or J-List soon.

I've used em TONS of times, and never had a problem.

which is more that what I can say from Lik-Sang which screw me a couple of times... :@

Given that Play Asia started by ex Lik Sang employess, I have no problem with them. I've ordered a bunch (to Canada) and they came just fine.
