there was a thread a while ago that showed some plugins or programs that clean up JPG ugliness on pictures from digital cameras.

anyone have any links or anything?

I use The GIMP 2.2, Selective Gaussian blur.

It needs to be said twice. No other method (that I know of) comes close.

I use "Remove Jpeg Artifacts" in PSP. It doesn't do all that much, but I usually try to make sure the picture I take don't have noise to begin with.

neatimage is pretty much what you're looking for. if you mean to cleanup the noise that is...if you're talking about compression artifacts...then just dont resize your pictures.
