How to Transfer Nintendo Switch System Data to Nintendo Switch 2

Now we don't have to buy the tech demo.

So will I have to do a back and fourth transfer every time I want to play one of my games on my original switch vs when I want to play on the switch 2?

The fact that we even have to ask these questions tells you everything about Nintendo unfortunately.

And here I was thinking they were user friendly. It's not even their own video.

Huh?

No. This is the transfer process to take your account from switch 1 to switch 2. If you want to keep playing your OG switch then register it as a second console. The switch OG will need to be online when you play it as your "second" console.

This is the most bizarre clusterfuck of a system launch I've ever seen.

I bet on the street date it's going to be a disaster.

That's how the original license setup works but now with the digital carts, I'm not sure. Looks like I'll be transferring the games to the switch 2 as their permanent home and may have to lend each game to myself on the original? I may be wrong though and hope it works just like you described.

So, what if I have 2 Switch (1 OlED which is primary and a 2nd normal Switch) and upcoming week the Switch 2?

Can I use them all 3 on the same account? Like Switch 2 primary and the other two secondary?

So If I transfer my current main account to Switch 2 can I log back into my original Switch with my main account and still have access to my digital games? Will I have to redownload all the games again that are currently on my SD card when the system wipes out the Switch after the transfer is complete? I won't be buying an express card anytime soon so I think it would be best to keep some digital games on the Switch.

Update your current Switch. I will explain how this work. The latest update they put out changes this on OG switch too and it explains it all.

Methinks most in this thread, many complaining about Nintendo, haven't played a Switch in a while.

This transfer business combined with battery life of the S2 worries me.
My work commute is 3 hours there and back with network black spots. My launch S1 has been golden and still is. It only ever ran out of battery late playing either of the main Zeldas.
If I transfer everything to S2, and the battery life is 2 hours, it ain't going to last. And my commute has black spots so I can't just rely on my "secondary" S1.
I'm picking my S2 up in less than 12 hours. How can we not know all the details of how this is going to work?

Question:

What if I already have 2 Switches? Will they both become secondary if S2 is the new Primary? Can you even use 3 on the same account?
