Don't know why I feel this is that big a deal, but crap like this makes me so angry.

In short, a man was killed on the motorway (freeway), when (supposedly) some kids threw an 8kg block of cement over an overpass bridge. It went through the windhsield, killing him instantly, and the car with three other passengers crashed into a post (they're ok, though, thankfully).

But what kind of retarded doorknobs thinks it's particularly fun to do crap like this? Why does it have to take someone's life to make loser lowlifes realise that actions have consequences? Stones are one thing, but to hurl cement blocks ...it blows my mind. At teh very least, if it didn't hit a car, such a block on the motorway will ATLEAST cause a major accident,since all traffic is travelling at 100 k/hr.

You know, videogames may have a bad rap for being a bad influence on some people, but atleast it keeps bored kids (or wheover is responsible - I may be wrong in my assumption) off the streets and away from doing crap like this. Well, unless they had being playing too much tetris.


ARRRGGGHHH!!! I don't even know why I feel so frustrated about this - I didn't know the poor guy, but it just irks me that humanity can be so... dim.
 
I like to think of the stupidest thing one could possibly do in a given situation, and take solace in the fact that at least one person has attempted it.
 
yeah. pretty scary that life can be dashed so quickly. I'm just realizing this shit, too. an offensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers football team died yesterday, and they don't even know why. He just fell over after a game and didn't get back up. Bam, dead. 23 years old. That's too fucking young, ya know?

Sucks that life is so fragile and people really dont even care.

Interesting take. I just wished that when people did stupid stuff, they paid for it, not others.

Like in shinoobi's story, it's just as tragic, but in the end, it was negligence, but not grossly so, and was an unfortunate accident (the same thing could have happened if they had stayed home or gotten someone to look after). You can hardly blame Starcraft for that. It may have been preventable, but it certainly wasn't intended.

People are stupid, which is why I fully support a world-wide implementation of a forced natural selection policy of removing warning labels from EVERYTHING. If you're stupid enough to drink battery acid, you deserve what you get.

sadly this was probably an act of 'lets fuck up someones car real bad' gone pretty wrong. stupid idiots. what the hell. throw eggs retards, not concrete slabs.
 
Several years back, I was on my way home from a friends house pretty late, and the barriers were down at a railroad crossing very close to his house, meaning that there was a train coming very soon. This necesitated a quarter-mile trip to the left to the closest underpass.

Upon arriving at the underpass, I just barely made out two silhouettes on top of this overpass. Totally random intuition made me put my brakes on as soon as I was directly under the overpass, coming to a quick stop. A good sized chunk on concrete fell directly in front of my truck and shattered on the pavement.

I floored it from out under the overpass, did a quick turn-around in a wide parts of the deserted street, and did my best to aim my high beams ontop of the overpass. I couldn't really make out anything, and less than a minute later the train finally appeared from the direction I had come in.

I don't really know what intuition put the pieces together for me and made me pause my truck, but it saved me from injury and possibyl even death.
 
This happened in the UK too, some oxygen wasters dropped a brick off a bridge killing this guys wife instantly. The sick thing is they got away with it, there were no other witnessess and no CCTV footage. I hope karma comes to kick their teeth out.

How about you don't throw SHIT? My house was pegged by eggs, paintball guns, and spraypaint for about 4 months (and the idiots also would remove reflectors which my parents set up in our front yard) before the police caught the three bastard who were doing it because one of them thought I snitched him out for cheating on a test.

God it was nice staying up until 3 am every morning staring outside the window waiting to catch the bastards and run outside and catch a face or a license plate. It was nice when I heard a car pull up into our driveway, I scrambled to wake my parents, and we went outside only to find it was the god damn paper delivery.

$5,000 damages, dozens of hours of lost sleep, unwanted stress, and the luxury of having "STEWART IS GAY" (I'm Stewart) printed on our garage door in big black permanent marker welcoming me home every fucking day from school for a few months.

No, don't throw rocks. Don't throw eggs. Don't throw anything, because you're fucking up other people's lives and property while doing it.

Felonies. Vandalism is usually a misdemeanor, but anything over $500 in damage and it becomes a felony.

One of the kids was 17 and a senior in high school (the kid who thought I snitched on him. Funny that he's in shitloads of advanced classes at the school just like me. Guess you can't judge a book by its cover). The others are 18. So the kid is lucky because it'll be expurged from his record when he turns 18. He's also lucky too that he can still stay in this country because he's here on a visa. I guess his dad cancelled his graduation party and tried to settle out of court (by offering us 300 dollars, which doesn't even cover the god damn deductable for the damages)

Oh believe me, we thought of getting our grandparent's dogs to come over.

One of the problems in catching them was that they'd do hit and runs. After they realizedwe were watching for them (the police would do nightly passes on the neighborhood too after the 3rd or 4th vandalism report we filed), they did hit and runs. When they pelted the house with pink paintball shots, they literally drove up and fired from across the street and sped away. All in about 10-15 seconds. I didn't even see the damn car pull up, and I was watching out my window the whole time.

They only got caught because they were driving past curfew one night (after they had egged our house, which we hadn't noticed that night), and a policeman pulled them over and saw the empty egg carton. After some questioning, he got them to admit to egging our house and drove by our house with them in the car so they could confirm the house they egged.

The next morning we didn't even notice that our house had been egged. because it had been egged so much, subsequent eggings just didn't stand out to the eye. We only realized it after we got a call later in the day that they'd caught the eggers (and then we found the empty eggshells in our driveway and on the lawn).

The funny thing is, the kid who thought I snitched on him, Abdi, admitted to the police that he didn't really believe I snitched on him, but he needed someone to blame, and I was the best choice out of everyone in the class (Offnote: This was a Java/SQL class. For fuck's sake, the tests were open curriculum, you could retake them multiple times, and yet these idiots STILL resorted to cheating by printing the questions out to bypass the time limit. I think I was the only one who actually read the curriculum in the class, to be honest. Everyone else just played flash games and quake all day). I didn't even snitch on them, but even if I had, it would have been no reason to cause thousands of dollars of damages to my home.

Fucking idiot. I honestly wish Abdi was 18 so the thing was permanently on his record.
 
It's even more annoying because EVERYONE knows I'm not the type who'd snitch.

Yeah, I'm somewhat of a teacher's pet. I'm a goody good person.

But I go to school to learn. I mind my own business. And pretty much everyone who remotely knows me knows that.

god DAMN I'm pissed. Thanks for suggesting that the punks throw eggs intead of concrete, catfish. Really gets my blood boiling at 5:30 in the morning.
 
Yea this case sucks. They're analysing DNA though and have got a pretty good idea of the culprits from the fresh tags (graffitti) found on the overbridge.

Thing that sucks though is that the age of criminal responsibility here in NZ is 14 years old, meaning that if these kids are 13 or younger, they'll get off with a 6 month stint in a juvenile home (complete with TV, PlayStation etc.) and then thousands of dollars in compensation.

(Our legal system is way soft, if you didn't pick up on it)

There's something I've always thought about, and while the execution of the idea would most likely get out of hand....

I seriously think that this world needs some fucking vigilante justice. We need people that run around at night wearing cloaks and masks, who fuck up all the shitheads who are doing stupid acts like this.

The kids THOUGHT he snitched on them but he didn't.....but the kids attacked his house anyway and caused $5,000 in damages.

Anyway, that sucks Gaimeguy. Last night I went to bed at around 2:30 and started to fall asleep when I heard some fuckers laughing and shit outside. I turned on my light and all the lights downstairs haha, and those little pricks were scared shitless and ran off :lol I didn't feel like putting on a shirt and running after them with a bat, too tired :P

And to relate to the first post, the same thing actually happened close to where I live. There's an overpass and some kids (most likely from my HS) killed a busdriver in the same manner, though I forget what they dropped on him. That was a couple years ago I believe, but they caught them now, woo!
 
I can't remember the story exactly, but a similar thing happened here (somewhere in Canada), however, I think the lady survived. The object that was thrown?

A frozen turkey. I kid you not. How can people be so stupid?

something similar happened near where I grew up...the weapon of choice was a very large pumpkin, though. smashed into a semi truck on the driver side and caused quite the accident.

shit, we used to go to the new neighborhoods, steal all the new road and real-estate "for sale" signs, throw them into our trucks, and put them up nicely in the yard of whatever friend was acting stupid for the week.

Nope. Because I had a strong policy of not fucking with the parents who, incidentally, own the house.

I kept the dirty looks and vitriol on school grounds.
 
i dunno. the parents down here didn't really seem to give a fuck besides waking us up at the crack of dawn to clean up the mess our friends left us. other than that, as long as eggs weren't glued onto the parents car, they were rather cool about it. although, one evening my father came home from a business party only to pull into the driveway that had "YOUR SON LUVS THE COCK" written in silly string. him yelling at my brother at 1am to clean it up or "PEOPLE WILL THINK UR SOME HOMOSEXUAL" was pretty damn funny... :lol :lol

So you're comparing your incident with silly string, something that takes about 5 minutes to wash off with a hose, to someone spray-painting that kids garage door and doing other shit to his house? There's a big difference between using real estate signs or egging and actually destroying the property of the people who live there.

Me, personally? I just never acted like a coward and if I wanted to fuck with someone, I did it to their face in broad daylight. I'm not some pussy going around doing shit to peoples homes at night, and I personally think anyone who destroys property unjustly (this goes for keying cars, breaking windows, etc) should be forced to pay for full costs of the damage as well as extra to have the repairs done immediately. And if they can't pay for it, they should have their nuts nailed to the car/house that they fucked up.

14-year old? Jesus. Anyway, a murder charge (especially for a 14-year old) is definitely a milestone for our justice system. The idiot deserves no less. Man, all it needs is some common sense. He just threw his entire life away...for what? A moments rush from a rebeliious act? May he rot in prison.

God, I wonder what his family and/or friends feel now. Hopefully those he associates with thinks carefully about these kinds of stupid acts.

We wanted it to be there so any police who came to our house could see the extent of the damages ( BTW, if I actually was gay, the writing would have been classified as a hate crime, which is a felony.) Only after we took pictures of the garage (and the rest of the house) and gave them to the police did we start trying to remove it ourselves, but it was pretty clear after a while that it would have to be a professsional job.

If you go up to our garage door and stare REALLY hard, you can make out the "IS" and the "GA". The rest is just a big stain now. But even the cleaning company which came couldn't remove it entirely. I have no clue what the hell the kids used, but it was "extremely difficult to remove," according to the cleaners.

Edit: The point of my post entirely was to say that don't fucking screw with other people's personal property, whether it be a car or a house or a lawn or a driveway or something.
