I have held off for so long even with the new cool colors. They have gone down in price and I had a 50 dollar credit. I couldn't resist. I sat in the car for 20 minutes only to walk back and buy one. From the time I walked in to the time I walked up to the register, they all smirked at the vision of me falling down on my knees and giving in.

I now own, an Ipod Mini.

You have to excuse me, I've been locked up for so long I just don't know which is what and how is where anymore!

EVERY FUCKING WEEK I SWEAR.

Seriously though, i does seem like someone's posting about their new iPod on a weekly basis. Funny, given how anti-iPod people used to be around here.

Give 'em a few minutes, they're busy trying to get everything running right on those home-built PCs, connected via a local ISP and using an open source browser, you know, sticking it to the corporations. So it'll be a bit as they need to generate enough power for their long-winded response, pedaling away on that bike, laughing at the suckers who actually pay for electricity.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. (About me specifically.) I know people were anti-ipod here and there I guess. Me on the other hand, I just wasn't a fan of the price. However, today I got an oppourtunity for a 149.50 tax included Ipod Mini and I went for it. Damn thing was too sexy. I did feel I was giving in though, not the type of giving in where you are giving in to something you bashed, more like I'm giving in to those elitist jerks that feel they are above the rest in some sort of exclusive elitist club because they own apple products.

I love this iPod Mini.

I just bought one too. And most probably it'll never leave the house. It'll be mostly used as a music server in the bedroom, connected to my hifi via the dock.

about the same as a squeezebox etc, but simpler to set up and use, and doesn't need my PC running 24/7

BLAH BLAH BLAH SAVE IT FOR NEXT WEEK

I am never without my iPod. I lived without one just fine, but since I got it, the headphones are never out of my ears. Probably not healthy.

Coat = Phone in left outer pocket. DS and games in left breast inner pocket. iPod in right breast inner pocket. I've got a pocket free....

PDA? or Camera?

I'm getting myself on of the 6gb ones once the 15th comes around. I just dont know what color i want. I dont like pink, but the other three colors i dont really like either. So i guess its blue or silver for me.

So yeah i'll be making my thread in about two weeks time :lol

is anyone else in here ashamed of their Mini Ipod?

Ipod is a good thing to store media on, but its damn Fugly!

when i walk the streets i have it hidden away in my pocket so know one can see it, i am afraid people will look at it and laugh.

People pointing at me: Hey look at that retard! what is that ugly thing around his neck? its square and a total dissapointment to the modern design of hightech gadgets.

thats how i feel when i have it on me.

maybe its just me but god the design of it sucks ass

i thought the 4G iPods looks really good actually, the the Minis were a step back. Would you prefer them to look like jewelry or some other inconspicuous accessory? i could see how someting like the iPod Mini or even the iPod Shuffle would look out of place on you judging by the pictures you've posted.

Personally, i want my electronic devices to look like electronic devices. It doesn't mean they can't look sleek. But to me, hiding what it is hides the allure of it, not to mention the fact that it takes away from the usability and functionality of them when you shrink them down. i normally wear my MD in my pocket and occasionally keep my remote clipped to my shirt, so it's not so much of an issue.

I can't get myself to wait for the newer sony hi-mds with true mp3 support to come out so I will be going forth with a 4gig ipod mini as well. I too wasn't a fan of the price but now at 225 cdn, it looks right :) Now to decide on a colour...

Most people carry their music player in their pocket, just because it makes sense to. What, do you want Ipod earrings?

Nice job. I hope you don't feel too bad for being suckered into buying an inferior product. But hey, you're a cool guy now right?

Inferior product? Far from it. Perhaps it is not as good in your eyes as what ever product you owe allegiance to. Having gripes, sure, calling it an inferior product? Unwarranted. Then again thinking back to BuddyChrist's comment, your attitude fits in.

Jaded empty comments take away breath and slow down your peddling, save it instead of trolling and peddle away from here.

EDIT:

I don't mind having mine around me, I don't think it's ugly. The pink was way too girly girly (owning a pink one for some reason screams out rich daddy's little girl) but the blue was just sooo right. Problem is they didn't have it, they only had pink or silver so I went with silver to match the DS, DVD player, and Flat HDTV LCD.

So far I really like this scroll wheel, it is really nice. At first before having one I associated it with the scroll pad on a laptop (thus nothing special) but after playing with it, this certainly feels way more sophisticated.

I keep blasting my ears by mistake, since when a song plays the scroll wheel will adjust the volume and the scroll wheel is very sensitive. I honestly believed all ear buds sucked, end of story. However, I've been very impressed with the ear buds, only thing is that they are pretty big for my ears. Thus I can't put them in and risk them falling out, but so far it hasn't been a problem.

I loved the packaging by the way. Apple certainly makes you feel special when opening the package to your new iPod that's for sure.

You have unusual tastes. If anything, I like the design of the iPod or the DS more than the actual products, which don't interest me (basically on principle alone). Personally, I just don't like MP3s, plain and simple, so I will not be buying an iPod, an iRiver, a Sony ATRAC player, or anything else that uses a format with lower fidelity than a CD. And even if it was better quality than a CD, I'm satisfied with listening with my car's excellent audio system.

I understand what you're saying, especially about the DS and the PSP, but I always thought the ipod's appeal was partially because of it's style. Then again, everyone's free to have their own opinion about a product's design.

The iPod plays wavs.

Audio formats supported: AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible, AIFF, Apple Lossless and WAV

So you are good to go.

The iPods, except for the Shuffle, support Apple Lossless which is the same audio fidelity as audio CDs, and other MP3 players also support other lossless formats. A MP3 player is great to have particularly if you tend to go to coffee shops, libraries, or other places to study, work, or what have you, since it effectively mutes the world out. You may want a better pair of earphones than what ships with the players though if you ever decide to go that route.

I don't buy online music for the audio quality reason alone, but I'll certainly buy portable music players. Crying kids are the bane of my existance.

The only thing the mini had going against it was battery life and price. Now it's extremely attractive with more than double the playback time and competitive pricing. If I was in the market for an HD-based music player I'd probably get the mini for sure.
