I got a replay to the question I sent to Wes Anderson! (Life Aquatic related).

First tragedy, then farce.
I dont know how many of you have seen the godly life Aquatic, but if you had you would realize that the three legged dog Cody is the greatest charachter in the history of cinema. Two of my friends (twins actually) lived across the hall from Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson when they went to UT.. so I knew that he went to UT and I had a way of contacting him through my friends.

The thing is, there is an astronomy professor at UT who has a three legged dog. Whever it rains the dog goes crazy and tries to escape from his house so he allways brings it to class when its raining. He ties the dog up to a rolling chair (just like a shot in the film). So I began to put two and two together and thought there was a significant chance they had taken classes with the same proff and were fans of the dog (who would often pull the rolling chair or table off the stage during class, or wrap his chain around the proffs legs resulting in much hilarity).

In any case, I just got a call back from one of my friends and it turns out that the Cody is in fact based on my proffs dog. I dont know what the point of this thread is, but the fact that they put an in joke in the movie that a few hundred people in the world could ever get is awesome.

Also, the proff had an awesome permed mullet. Which has nothing to do with anything, but any guy with a three legged dog and a permed mullet who studies astronomy is instantly cool.
