How'd you manage that? I'd like to know :(

Well you can get drugs, to get by with little to no sleep but they don't last long...sleep is essential like eating and breathing :P

Mastering REM sleep is no small task for most people. It's probably not something you're born with, although i do remember having lucidity as far back as i remember dreaming. i'd like to get back to the level i was years ago. As it is now, i'm aware that i'm dreaming, and can sometimes control the dream and exit it (especially if it's a bad dream), but by that time much of the dream has passed.

It's like 10 years off but I did see a thing where they're working on a pill that replenishes all the stuff you need for sleep and tricks your body into thinking you've slept.

They're also making one that mimics what your body does when you exercise, so you lose weight like you've been exercising, but you won't get any muscle tone from it or anything.

Now all you need to learn is lucid dreaming and you'll be an unstoppable force worthy of praise from the heavens.

I had the wierdest dream last night. Some freakish looking guy with white cone-shaped fingernails, a pitch black face, white haid and red eyes was in my room. It was like I was awake, only I couldn't move. But once he saw I was awake, he came over, picked me up and started squeezing my chest all while screeching. Anyway, the wierdest thing of all was that I could feel the pressure on my chest...

Scared the hell outa me.

We had a thread about those dreams, exactly what you were talking about too. It's called sleep paralysis or something right? I seriously would die of a heart attack if I had one of those dreams.

a Biology professor of mine about four years ago introduced to the class the concept of becoming conscious in your dream state, and thus controlling your dreams. Deaming for long periods of time is one of my favorite things to do.
