The first time I remember lurking on OG GAF was on 9/11. I'm sure I was on there before that too but that day will forever be imprinted in my mind and GAF felt like it was getting updates faster than the news was, though a lot of bullshit rumors popped up too.

I'm at 15 years. Joined in 2007. lurked a year or two prior. Would have joined earlier but i dont think they were accepting new accounts at the time. it was on another forum someone mentioned they opened it up and i jumped on that, took months to get verified too. it all felt like you were joining some cool club for gamers where big name developers hung out and there was influence here.

Some of the threads were just insane. so damn funny. like Wollens line art.

the killzone 2 threads. everything from that infamous trailer to the trickle of official screenshots leading up to the reveal. fanboys and shit posting, all of it was glorious.
