I need a PC game" suggestions wanted"

I have a laptop that the company I work for gave me, it´s all standard stuff in it so I wont be able to play games that has complex Graphic´s

this is the specs

Dell latitude D505
Intel Pentium M
Processor 1.7GHz
592 MHz
512 MB of RAM

I have no idea of what kind of graphic card this Laptop uses.

I would like a "point and click" type of game, like sim city and stuff like that, but maybe sim city is to advanced to play on this machine??

I would suggest Civ4, but I'm not sure how it'd work out with that spec. But any in the series are classics..:)

What kind of video card is in there?

edit - reading is fundamental..sorry, I see you don't know what the gpu is :)

My guess is Sim City 4 would be fine. Civ 4 would probably be OK too, just make sure you get the patch :)

Right-click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager > Display Adaptor.

You may have a mobile radeon or geforce go, but it could well be a shitty intel graphics. That'd give us a better idea of what to recommend.

Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphic controller

thats what is says

Ok, well i've never played on any intel graphics chip, so I don't know exactly how shit they are....just that they are pretty worthless for any high-end gaming.

Do you want new games suggestions or just any PC games cos your new to PC gaming?

I suggest you download the new Star Wars: Empire at War demo and see how that plays on your comp, it's pretty good graphically, but if your card can handle it on low settings; then you should be fine to play stuff like Civ4.

When you say point and click, you mean RTS games and City Building stuff?

I would suggest things like Rome: Total War, Age of Empires, Black & White.

Again, these are pretty good looking games, but can also run on low end comps, so if your gfx chip can handle the Empire at War demo reasonably well, then it could play these other games aswell, albeit on low settings.

But, on the other hand, if you want any great classic games, then I suggest you look into things like Starcraft, Command & Conquer (pre generals), sim city

Ok well I really just want to play city building and like warcraft games, you know game where you have an army and you build your troops and send them out in battle, I remember playing a game called Dune on my Amiga 500 along time ago that game was my favorit game at that time, you know of any games like that?

Yeah, all the games I listed are like that, both the new stuff and the classic stuff and all great games. Some of them incorporate a good mix of both city building and battle.

You can try any RTS's, Dune 2 was the first of this category. I suggest Warcraft 3, Sim City 4, Rise of Nations, Civilization 3 (everyone has at least 1 expansion pack).

If you want to play online, i suggest Starcraft, if you want to try something different, try Europa 1400 or Medieval Total War. If you want a tactical action-strategy, try Jagged Alliance 2 Gold.

AoM is good, but it had much higher system requirements than Warcraft 3

Yeah, but it still should easily run on his Pentium M 1.7 laptop with 512 RAM. I used to run it in 2002 on a PIII 700/Geforce with 256MB RAM fine

I am trying out the Empire at War demo b/c I have a very similar laptop (D600, 1.4 Mhz, Radeon 9000) and I would love to be able to play that game.

I want a game like dune that is set in the future, is world of warcraft futuristic?

Your best bet is Starcraft then, probably.

EDIT: Forget the other game I had before, won't run probably

World of Warcraft is an online RPG? not a strategy game. The Warcraft strategy games are in a fantasy setting, you should try Starcraft, which is a bit older, but still a fantastic game.

Total Annihilation. It's a classic and still the best RTS ever made.
