When my sister got her Ipod we bought the usb cables at Best Buys.

Yep you can buy it at the Apple Store or there could be some cheaper third party cables as well.

You can find the USB 2.0 Cables at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

You'll need a power adapter (which plugs into the afore-mentioned cables) to charge it though. I dunno if BB and the like carry those - if not, an Apple store or Apple.com would be your best bet.

Ouch. Sorry to hear it, I can't imagine what it's like.

But it kind of depends on which iPod it is; 3G won't charge off of USB, you'll need the AC adapter and the Firewire cable. The iPod charges directly through that from the wall. It's unconventional, cool, but unconventional.

For 3G as well, the USB cable sold seperately will be a Y connector, so you can connect the iPod to the AC and the USB, having a de facto state of charging while docked, even though it's just a classy juryrig.

If it's a 4G iPod, you just need a 4G iPod USB 2.0 cable, any Apple Store or Best Buy/Circuit City/CompUSA will have it.
