Dragon's Dogma games have multiple classes each with their own skills that you unlock as you progress. They aren't assorted as a tree tho.

The Witcher 3 comes to mind as well, but I don't recommend that game because the combat is kinda dogshit.

Titan Quest lets you pick not one but two classes, so you get double the skill-tree fun.

I would suggest Cyberpunk 2077, but personally I do not like how you can't get any of the good stuff until level 15 which takes a fair bit amount of time, even when doing everything there is to do in Watson and Kabuki. the level 20 stuff was not very great, imo. it all bothers me because no matter how many levels I gain or skills I unlock, I never feel stronger or feel that I am better than the enemies I am fighting.

No, if you don't choose the right skills, you can forget about the endgame. Diablo isn't designed to let you experiment freely with the skill tree. Either you pick the right skills, or you'll be in serious trouble later on.
It's been a while but I'm pretty sure D3 lets you respec for free. D4 makes it unnecessarily hard, but it's still possible.

Yes, you can respec relatively cheaply in Diablo 4 (and in Diablo 3 too), but what's the point of respeccing if you have to follow a guide just to have an okay build?
