I think I may be a Play-Asia convert. Is this typical?

Up until now I've been all about National Console Support, as their service is fantastic and worth the price. But since they didn't have some things in stock, I decided to try Play-Asia.

Ended up paying $34 for shipping when I ordered Wednesday night (DDR with Mario was in there, making it a large parcel). Comparing the final price to NCS, the extra shipping was canceled out by Play-Asia's lower prices.

But here's the amazing part -- I ordered on Wednesday evening, and they attempted delivery to San Francisco *this morning*! Sure, I was asleep and missed the doorbell (which usually doesn't happen as it's loud as hell), but hey.

This happen all the time? If so, that might just be the end of my NCS adventure.

Yeah play-asia seems to be tons better than ncsx

Except ncsx modding service is a pretty sweet deal I think

PS: Buy tomato adventure at play-asia for $20

I was just thinking of ordering Grandia III from them...

Glad to hear that they performed well.

Ha ha, Tomato Adventure was awesome. One of the first Japanese games that I was able to fully comprehend (easy reading). I actually played it based on "Kitsune's" (you know the guy...) recommendation. He was right, though...

Play Asia is fucking awesome. When I ordered Street Fighter 3: TS a few weeks ago it was here (Auckland, NZ) within a few days. Same deal with Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy, and they sent it in a box despite me being a cheapass and opting for budget shipping, AND they included the cell phone strap toy as well. MUCH LOVE.

I've been strictly a play-asia man since they launched, but ChibiRobo actually ended up being several dollars cheaper from NCS, even after the P-A coupon.

That's the first time that's ever been the case when I've checked, though, so from now on I'm testing both out.

Plus, I'm kind of not on speaking terms with P-A right now for not sending me the Minna Daisuki cellphone strap with my preordered copy, which apparently they did for everyone else. I'd like to believe I just preordered too late and supplies ran out, but that doesn't completely heal the heart hurt.

edit: SEE LIKE WHAT THE EFF (referring to the post immediately above)

The funny thing is I also ordered DDR with Mario on Wednesday night and it recieved right here in Sacramento this morning... Play Asia does indeed rock. And, yes - it happens all the time - I always order Wednesday afternoon/evening and every sing time I've gotten my package that Friday.

But bottom line, yep ditch NCS. I did about 6 months ago and will never look back.

And DDR with Mario rocks - of course, I'm a DDR noob, so the upfront slower pace is appreciated.

Oh, and if anyone is Sacramento wants to play DDR with Mario I'll be doing the EB Placerville grand openning event tomorrow and am going to bring it along. 12-2pm.

Play-Asia is even so crazy fast shipping to Sweden they can sometimes be faster than ordering domestically. Also, the shipping is so cheap (at least last time I ordered), I feel cheated when I have to order from somewhere else. Ooh, and the weekly specials can be pretty awesome. My favorite online store by far!

I usually use lik-sang. Have had nothing but love from there. They even delivered Biohazard (REmake) to my door in two days, on a SUNDAY! I still have no clue what magic they command to make a US Postal delivery man work on Sunday (I used EMS shipping, was deliverd by the USPS).

Play-asia is good, too. I go there and usually find them better stocked than lik-sang. I've never used NCS; friend of mine had a bad experience so I've never bothered trying them.

are lik sang and play asia japanese release games only?

I used Play-Asia to get Pikmin 2 (JPN) before virtually everyone in the U.S. Ordered using their PayPal option so that they sent it out the same day (no processing time), and then chose overnight shipping... It arrived on the West Coast in less than 48 hours.

Plus, they were shipping copies almost a week before the Japanese release date!

U.S. importers like NCSX just can't compete with them as far as speed of delivery goes--they have to import shipments of games from Asia first, then ship them out to their customers. With Play-Asia, it just goes straight from Hong Kong to you. When you couple this with prices that are as low or lower than the competition, they're hard to beat.

Play-Asia rocks. Sure, sometimes I like to use NCS or Video Game Depot for certain items, but most of the time I head to Play-Asia for my import video game needs.

Yeah, they're good...but I still prefer videogamesplus since I usually import NA games rather than Japanese ones.
