for the simple fact that it is pretty much a Broken Lizard movie, aka the production team behind the classic Super Troopers :D

Jessica Simpson is an extra bonus.

Well the decision to put her in certainly gives ME a raise! HO HO HO!

your kidding me right? Broken Lizard is in the movie? I want to see it more now.
Jay Chandrasekhar is the director/writer, who played Ramathorn in Super Troopers.

Foster and Farva from Super Troopers is also in Dukes, and has writing credits.

I WANT A LITRE OF COLA!!!

8 bucks to go see Jessica Simpson? Go rent a porn instead.

I prefer to think of what could be than see surgical closeups sometimes. And what's with all the butt sex in porn these days?

That said, Stifler always cracks me up and I'm curious if Johnny knoxville can pull this off.

Her "southern" accent is a disgrace. Of course, I watched the preview about 237 times before I even realized she spoke, so not all is bad.

They did a couple of rewrites on the movie ...the movie looks like another club dread, not super troopers

While I agree with you here, I've never actually paid 8 bucks to see a movie that had a girl in it that I found attractive. In fact, I don't think I've ever paid anything to do that. Just seems like a waste of time if it's a shitty movie.

Who even rents porn? How the hell does the porn industry make money.....

EDIT: I'm not going just for jessica simpson, I think it could be pretty funny. Sean William Scott consistantly makes me laugh.

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
I'll see it pretty much only for the car chases (don't tell my girlfriend about the Jessica Simpson thing...)

Indeed. She sounds terrible.

I'll rent this later because of the large Broken Lizard influence. No way I'd see it in theaters though.

But she's texan.

"Loose the accent or you'll go nowhere in this biz."

"Now do 'Southern'"

*she speaks like she did as a little kid*

"Not like that! The audience won't be able to understand it!!!!"

:lol

I saw the trailer for this on BB and almost cried when I saw Jay Chandreskhar (sp) was directing it.. it looks so fucking awful that I was absolutely distraught that he was the one behind it. How he could go from Super Troopers to Club Dread then this is beyond me... good God it looks HORRIBLE.

Of all the trailers I saw the Dukes of Hazard trailer with, it was on par with Stealth, just with a bigger budget.

Texas isn't part of the south. Just because people want to group it in there for political purposes, many many people in the south hate Texans. They are basically their own little country, and quite frankly they like it that way :)

You people sure are being hard on it for no good reason. This is an internet bitch-thread if there ever was one (OP excluded, of course).

Is hating the original TV series a good enough reason to hate the movie?

Fucking Cooter, Boss Hogg, Luke/Bo/Luke II/Bo II, Uncle Jessy, Roscoe, god I couldn't stand that shit as a kid, and quite frankly I can't believe the redneck revolution in the 2000's. I would have never thought rednecks would be popular growing up in the south, I can't believe it's "en vogue" now.

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
On a side note... I am shocked that my father let me and my brother watch DoH... He is a black man who made through the south (Louisiana) in the mid 30s... and he never once said a thing about his two mixed children watching a TV show where the main characters drove around in a car named THE GENERAL LEE.. I love my dad...

We named our last dog (Basset Hound) Flash after the one in the TV series. I loved watching the show as a kid. ;P But I absolutely refuse to watch this piece of shit. Its another shameless attempt to rape a classic TV show.

Hey, here is a secret about Texas...anybody who speaks in a Texan drawl and was born within the last 25 years probably doesn't actually speak like that. The only people who do were born on a farm out in the middle of nowhere.

Is Club Dread shitty or good?

I haven't heard anyone who isn't a Broken Lizard fanboy say anything worthwhile about the movie. I liked/didn't love their first movie, and haven't seen the second one, for what it's worth.

I had a General Lee Big Wheels when I was a kid. I may go see this movie if it makes gratuitous use of the narrator.

I remember growing up watching Dukes of Hazzard on Friday nights and then getting up early in the morning to watch re-runs of Land of the Lost and Superfriends.

That sounds just like the talk of Candians who say they've never heard another Candiian say "aboot".

Not really. There is a "texan" accent and it's not a southern accent. They aren't the same, no matter how hard you want to believe otherwise.

Yeah he's cool for that, but why wouldn't he? It's fiction.
