If they made a new Mario game using the SM64DS engine, what would you want in it?

I've been playing plenty of Super Mario 64 DS since the Australian release a week ago, and at the same time have got two friends addicted to the game update. I've had absolutely no problems using the Thumb Bandana, and and up to about 80 stars.

They've added so much to the original 1996 engine. The new boss levels are fun and use a lot of floating / swirling platforms which I like. Plus the Chilly Chief boxx I thought graphically looked really nice, with the falling snow, and the ice slicing downwards looked very 'clean'.

Since they've added a lot to the game like powerups and whole levels, they could easily make a new game with a whole set of new levels, new ideas, new power ups. If they made a sequel, what would YOU like to see? The return of the 4-man team up? What would the HUB area be?

Heres mine:

- Bigger Levels. Still keep the same amount of them, but make them just 'bigger'. Perhaps with branches leading to different sets of SMS 'zone' platforming action. Both water levels just seem very small compared to, say, Bob-Bomb Battlefield.

- Make the game more difficult. There are a fair few of the more 'difficult' parts of SM64 which become a piece of piss once you figure out where the owl is and fly back.

- No World-Within-World bits, like the Metal Cap area in Hazy Maze or the Luigi Painting. They should be avaliable through the HUB, though hidden.

- Give us something special when you get all the Stars. Neither SM64 or SMS had anything good at the end.

- Return of the Fire Flower.

- Make Bowser difficult to kill. The first two battles with him are too easy. Bring back the Koopa Kids too, I don't want to fight the same boss a bunch of times [like the Squid in SMS].

Power ups, Power ups, Power ups, Power ups,
Semi-3D or Maximo style linear 3D levels,

(repeat 208572308572852385 times)

- The rope-walking and hanging mechanics from SMS
- More "vertical" levels like Tick Tock Clock
- A different power-up system
- More "Get from point A to point B" levels

Tick Tock Clock is pure evil, my friend.

:)

I'd like.. umm.. minigames?

All the cool stuff that Sunshine had...

- the ropes (as already someone mentioned)
- the fence crawling/hanging and flipping
- more vertically-oriented levels
- return of FLUDD (but not attached 100% of time)
- Yoshi to ride on

Plus some of the new stuff Mario 64 DS had...

- new minigames
- alternate characters to play as (replace Yoshi with Peach or Toad)

And some retro stuff...

- return of the mushroom power system (get hit when small and die, get hit when big and turn small, etc.)
- airship levels
- store items
- points system

Regarding powerups: I want Mario to obtain a racoon suit and see the animation of him getting into the suit and zipping it up and stuff.

An analog stick
Winner.

Nearly everything I've seen mentioned so far is either completely the opposite of what I'd like to see in a Mario game, or completely counter-intuitive when taking into account SM64DS's horrendous control.

*Analog stick
*Better Level Design
*Bigger, more engrossing levels
*Kart racing, golfing and tennis built right in
*ahem*
*Non-gimmicky multiple characters (all they did was assign Mario's different hats to different characters...wow)
*Tougher bosses
~and most importantly~
*NOT A COLLECT-A-THON

I hope you're all using the Thumb Bandana like this:
