IGN: Gotham Knights' System Requirements on PC Are Quite Demanding

Batman obviously is busy upgrading his super bat computer in order to run this game well.

This once again shows how embarrassing WB Montreal technical capabilities are.

Gotham Knights' Steam page now shows that users will need at least a GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card to play on high settings at 60fps, but only at 1080p resolution. For that graphical set up you'll also need a CPU equivalent to or better than an Intel i7-10700K or Ryzen 5 5600X alongside 16GB of RAM. That's a resonably steep demand for 1080p.

Gotham Knights minimum requirements were also shared, with users needing a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 590 to run the game on low settings (but still at 60fps and 1080p). An Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 equivalant CPU is also required alongside 8GB of RAM.

I mean the game runs at 30 on consoles so I'm having a hard time seeing the gotcha that you're attempting here. Good going trying to derail with pointless console warrior shit immediately into the thread, though, impressively pathetic.
PC elitists were acting like it was the fault of the consoles, and that this game's performance is representative of what is to come this gen (30 fps as standard). This confirms is just an unoptimized POS.

I’m not sure why it requires that sort of horsepower when it doesn’t look like it’s doing anything new or ambitious at all. In fact I’d say it’s doing the opposite of those things.

I heard something about the coop not tethering players (which apparently is very demanding) but I don’t really get why that’s a thing when GTAV has been doing it since 2013.

So it's not well optimized. What are the odds it's also riddled with bugs like Arkham Origins was when it released back in 2013?

These are really high requirements for a game that looks like it was made in 2014.
It must be terribly optimized.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K (3.7 GHz) OR AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.60 GHz)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OR AMD Radeon RX 590
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 45 GB available space
Additional Notes: 1080p / 60fps / Low Quality Settings

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K (3.8 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (3.7 GHz)
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 45 GB available space
Additional Notes: 1080p / 60fps / High Quality Settings

Well, well, well... how the turn tables....

Where's the "if you want 60 fps build a PC" crowd now?
Eh?, according to the specs i'll be able to get 60fps on my midrange PC (3700x, 32gb Ram, 1080ti).

You are goijng to need a monster PC to play it at 4k with a high refresh framerate. Thats wht they mean.

10700k, 5600x recommended for 1080p60 like Straight up 5600x which runs cyberpunk at 4k barely hitting 60% use for this game.
This is Dogshit tier optimization, beyond pathetic.

Yeahhhhhhhh this game is a poorly optimized piece of shit. No reason for the requirements to be that demanding for a game that doesn’t even look as good as the last one.

Black_Stride

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
They have to be taking a piss on that CPU rec spec.
A 5600X?

A 1660Ti/1070 as min spec for low settings also seems kinda high from what ive seen of this game.
Its still an Unreal title, im more than sure a 1060 will still handle this title.

Of course, it has these requirements. I have never seen such a pretty game. This wonderful city where you meet other people from time to time and then these incredible animations. It can only be a 10/10 game.

Terrible optimization is the only rational explanation for these insane requirements and the 30 fps on consoles.

It's ridiculous, really.

Another terribly optimized game.

it looks like devs are partecipating to a contest for who is the fastest that can put a 4090 on his knees...

590 is 7 tflops btw.

5700xt is 9.6 tflops or roughly 12 Polaris Tflops.

If they can do 60 fps, consoles should be able to do it too.

Yeah seems very unoptimized. The minimum system requirements are higher than the recommended ones for Cyberpunk ? (at least on steam). What?
Is the city at least finally densely populated or have they found yet another excuse for Gotham to be practically empty?

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
A 2070 for only 1080p/60fps??? THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!?

Wild right. My friend (and YouTubers have put up videos conforming this) says he gets about 45 fps playing Cyberpunk @ 1440, all high settings, DLSS set to "quality" on his 2070. His screenshots look nice. Meanwhile this game, even running at 4K native with raytracing, looks so very 2016.

I think WB Games Montreal just either rushed this thing out the door, or somehow lost everyone on their team who knew how to properly leverage UE4 for scaling. It's just baffling how unoptimized this thing is. What is eating up all that compute? Where are all of these resources going? Because it damn sure ain't going towards the visuals.

There are pedestrians and traffic but the streets are virtually empty.

It's not populated at all, apart from the odd few civilians walking alone on the roads and the odd car driving around.

That's excluding groups of enemies to beat up.

It's funny because PCMR complaint about games with requirements that are way less than PS5 or SX specs but also complaint about next gent console specs because "they limit the technical advances of games" I mean yeah this game doesn't look that good but... isn't everyone here supposed to have a rig that put the new generation to shame?

The performance price of ray tracing never seems to be worth the result.

This whole generation seems lost and out of touch. Low supply of consoles 2 years in. Consoles already seeing its limits reached. Next gen games hardly look better. Development shifting to games as a service. The best selling console is about as powerful as a phone.

Gotham Knights is one of many to come, Enjoy.

It’s something I’ve been scratching my head about since the no 60fps on console thing where it just seemed like it had to be a CPU bottleneck and not something they could just par back graphics to fix, otherwise they should have had it. All I can think of is they’re doing a really funky way of doing co-op, like running the other player as a separate instance of the game and it eating up CPU or something. Can’t think of a whole lot else really.

Do PC guys just expect next gen games to run the same on newer hardware as last gen games? The consoles have stepped up to the equivalent performance of what a high end graphics card was a years ago. If the console isn't running at 4K 60fps your damn 1070 definitely isn't. Sure the 2070 is steep, but don't forget games like Miles Morales are running between 1080p and 1440p dynamic resolution in performance mode to hit 60fps on PS5.

I'll have to check the tech reviews when they are out, but it isn't as simple as 1080p to reach 60fps is bad. I can't wait to see the recommended specs for Returnal at console settings on PC since that too was 1080p if I'm remembering correctly.

Right here because last time I checked you can't currently play this at 60fps on console so you do infact need a PC if you wish to play at 60fps.

Miles is dynamic 1440p with raytracing and it’s not just 60 it’s 70-120
