Took me about 4 hours to finish washing the whip. Anyone else obsess over their cars keeping them pristine?

Wash, wax (rims included), windows, tires, rims, vacuum, entire interior, special brushes for all the nooks and crannies like vents, engine bay (not that I drive down the street with my hood open), wheel wells, visible suspension, exhaust, etc. I even fucking wax areas of the engine bay including strut tower brace, strut towers, all visible paint, etc. For tires I never go full-on super shine. I lightly sponge the tires with a conditioner and come back about an hour later to smooth/wipe off excess and leave a dark matte finish instead of super-slime-shine.

I'm the same way with my bike. Have all sorts of special pads I use to get at all the hard to reach areas of the motor/trans.

Anyone else obsess with keeping their cars as spotless as possible?

When I got my first twin turbo 300 Z, it was black and I would spend that amount of time detailing it. First the wash then dry, two stage polish and finally the wax.

Falling back in love with my 2011 Camaro SS. Probably because I want another car already, and I'm finding ways to justify keeping it and not wasting money. Washed and waxed her last night. Changed the oil this morning. Cleaning out and oiling up the K&N Intake tonight. feelsgoodbro.

old fucking car. has given me good service the past three years but can't wait to sell it(most likely scrap) when I can afford to do so.

I have a 2006 Kia Rio. I don't need to wash it, but I keep the windshield clean. I have had it for so long, taken so many trips with it that it feels like a part of the family now.

Recently I fixed all the things that needed fixing. I'm obsessed with making sure I don't go without something that might need to be done. But looks-wise I do not spend 4 hours of my time waxing it.

...I really need someone to detail the car out though. The dirt inside is starting to bug the hell out of me.

I was pretty crazy about my car when I inherited it even though it was 17 years at the time. However, after my first accident it just seemed to fade.

I got a 96 TT 300zx love the car but mine needs a lil TLC when I get the money.

Love my current car (1986 Honda Prelude Si), it's a blast to drive and has around 90k miles so it's barely broken in. Hasn't given me any kind of issues, although I'm starting to get small bits if rust around the rear window. Honda thought it would be a great place to have water drain from the roof, so it just sits there and eventually will rust.

Been spending the past 4 years trying to pick up all kinds of rare parts and options. Don't think I'll be getting rid of this car anytime, possibly ever. I do miss having a swapped Honda and hitting those 8k redlines :(

I love my car(2012 GTI) and when I first got it, I liked to keep it nice and like new. After I received my first ding, I started to wash it less. Then after I curbed my wheels and got my fourth ding, it just felt like it wouldn't make much of a difference to try to keep it clean. Plus with the dog, it just gets crazy fur all over the interior.

Been slowly trying to turn the habit around, just have make some sort of routine. Also need PDR.

I'm 34 and can count the number of times I've waxed a car on one hand. I keep mine clean, but I don't really care about it. I've never been a "car guy." My friends will talk about cars and engines and whatever else and I don't care about any of it.

Sometimes I will put on a podcast and spend 2-3 hours cleaning and detailing the car. I take pride on it, but I also do it because it simply pleases me.

I drive a 77 chevy shortbox every day. The clear coat is gone, no AC, the wipers only have one speed (slow), and its cold blooded to beat hell. If offered a brand new truck fpr trade straight up, I would tell you where to stick it. I love my truck.

People who say this tend to be terrible drivers.

That's rubbish. My first performance car i adored - i washed it every week and really took care of it. Then i got a full time job and moved to a very heavily trafficked city - since then i bought a new 4WD so I dont have the "emotional attachment" to the car anymore.

Doesnt make me a worse driver by any means. Currently, my car is just a tool to get me from A to B..
