So this is the second time it’s happened but I looked into my junk email and I received a message from one of my contacts on my iPhone I messaged the person directly and they said they never sent anything so I’m just wondering how an email was sent as if it was sent from one of my contacts ? Is she hacked and if she is why is it showing up as one of my contacts in my email junk folder

No it’s my sister-in-law and I called her directly and it’s just weird that both times are from her but the email looks like it’s from my iPhone contacts

She probably clicked/installed something and its gone through her address book/contact list - usually an app or service that you give access to your contacts through a signup process you dont read properly.

Once they have her contacts and the list they have permission to use them.

That’s what I assumed it’s just weird that the messages I looked at it’s looks like it’s from her but my contact list I don’t know if I’m making sense

That will just be the matching cache against the email address your side probably. You could just ask her to check sent items and deleted items to ensure her account hasn't been manually compromised.

Aside from that you'll have to wait until the relay goes down or she disables contact lists on her apps (not sure if iOS works on revocation or once it has access that's enough for the future), and turns it back on one by one.
