Incognita is a a turn-based strategy game played from an isometric viewpoint, with a focus on stealth, rather than extended battles. Its set sometime in the future and has a hard sci-fi feel to the world that has been created.
You play as the overseer of a team of agents, picked out by you, as they attempt to infiltrate corporate buildings to find gear, steal equipment and obtain intelligence documents. A level consists of one floor inside the building, and the only final escape that can be had is to be found on the top floor. The levels are procedurally generated, and permadeath is in place, so in between missions, its vital to hire new agents and buy more equipment.
In the current build of Incognita, there are three types of classes you can choose from. They are:
Engineer: Can scan areas to find electronic devices, such as computers, can hack computers proficiently
Stealth: Moves silently (the others create sound ripples, like in Mark of the Ninja) and uses a dart gun to knock guards out
Sharpshooter: Shoots enemies from long-range to kill
Moving through the level can be done as you wish, but information is vital in Incognita, so peeking through doors, around corners and generally being cautious is encouraged. Reaction moves are possible during the oppositions turn, should an enemy or your own agents be encountered when its not their turn. Guards will shoot on sight, and taking cover is necessary to avoid taking damage. Ammo for the weapons is quite deliberately scarce, so its best not to engage them in a firefight, lest you want to search for more ammo or purchase it after the level is over.

Incognita is currently in ALPHA, which means that we are still in the early stages of development. At this time, we have the core mechanic of turn-based espionage, but the major features and content of the game are still being implemented. We expect the game to change significantly as we test and release new updates, and as much as we try to keep them out, were expecting bugs along the way.
During the Alpha, Incognita is only available for purchase through the widget here. Right now, when you purchase the game, you get a key that you must redeem in Steam. The Incognita Alpha is not available for "purchase" through Steam at this time. We will have a Steam purchase page closer to Beta, and a standalone version will be available around launch.
