Infraction Points and You

I have just stumbled into the rite of passage of receiving my first warning/infraction point. Sorry to disappoint -my desire is not to commit account suicide by contesting the grounds in an angry tirade. My question is far more boring: how do these points work? I checked the TOS, and there's no mention.

Do they work like Pokemon TCG points, where the game ends when you accrue three? Or are they more like rings or coins? Or maybe, they just sit there like a status modifier, causing an additional 50HP damage to your account each in event of attack?

I hardly knew these were a thing before today, just genuinely curious. I tried doing a search, I'm sure it's buried somewhere. Alas I am not an AI, just one misbehaving man.

I asked a mod about this a while back. If it's still the same then there's not a limit where if you hit it then you get a ban. I would guess that if you have built up a lot of them then they might be less willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on something but that's probably it as far as the points total.

I wonder what the most points you can get with a single warning is? I've only had one warning which was for three points, which I assumed was a little baby warning, but maybe not.

It'll say you have a warning on your profile but it's up to the mod to decide whether to ban you or not for further posts during the duration.

Here is a tip, don't say a single thing anti Sony and you'll be fine.

I looked and I have 3 for inappropriate behaviour that I got in June 21 so I think they stay with us for life. I cant remember what I done now, I think it must have been a misunderstanding as im not the sort of person to mess about or wind anyone up.

I have 12 total, over 4 years.

But my best MOD comment is this one "Details of warning: Stupid AJUMP23. BE MORE FUNNY!!" 0 points.

I also got told if I don't stop using the term Sony pony I would get banned. Sony sensitive moding. I told them Sony Pony is a term of endearment. But I appreciate all my warning points.

Welcome to the club.

I checked my account and I have 2 warnings, both 3 points each. I’m guessing that’s the default amount given for any slap on the wrist.

Holy shit. I thought I was rugged now, but I'm gonna need at least, like, 50 points before someone with an eye patch buys me a beer.

Where can you see your number of infraction points?

Click your name in the top right, then click "Your profile" inside that bit and it'll show warnings between the "About" and "Feedback stats" tabs.
Ah man I only have one warning in 15+ years, from drunken shitposting back in May. I’m (mostly) a goodie two-shoes I guess. 😇

When your account is created it randomly gives you an HP value between 20-60 and when you get an infraction a 20 sided die is rolled to determine how much damage it does to your account HP and when it reaches 0 you die, I mean get banned

Got a couple a few years ago. I kinda take them as indicators that the user is still wanted. There to see if they can adapt to the house's rules. Maybe to placate an aggrieved complainer with some sort of actioning to de-escalate a situation.

I think I got warned once for posting a minimum amount of words to express my lack of satisfaction with another poster's words, instead of a snarky gif. Some may call it a drive by.

I have since learnt my lesson and now am the goodest of boys. I still nurse my wounded wrist to the day.

So these warnings never leave your account? Man that would annoy my OCD so much.

I don't know. Mine says it lasts one year. But I don't know if they all have a limit, or they decide when its levied.

I'm glad the lesson stuck, boy. Next time, they might hit that wrist across.

Not true, 3 points for the below

"If Nintendo released LittleBigPlanet people would say it's the most innovative game ever."

Mine expired but it’s still there if I look at my profile. I think it just hangs around but maybe isn’t actively considered by mods if it’s then expired.

I don't think I've received any -- a mod deleted one of my posts one time cause I said Disney movies were for kids or something, must've been a sensitive topic for them, but that's all I've had.

They affect your credit score and your ability to get a mortgage amongst other things.

When the banks pull your files they check GAF too.

There’s a monthly tribunal where the infracted are assigned champions who battle on their behalf in nude wrestling matches. The more points you have the smaller the champion.

You have a 25% chance of getting permed if you have 1 infraction point in your hand. If you have 2 infraction points this doubles to 50%.

I’ve had 21 warnings and total of 53 points

:messenger_grimmacing_

The points expire. So I think if you get too many in a certain time frame then you’re banned. I’ve had many temp bans but eventually you’ll get permabanned. Obviously you can get a permanent at any time.
