Why Sega, WHY ?

Yeah, that's a wrap for Sega.

Has a homo-erotic thing going on doesn't it?

Yuck. And Shenmue I and II are my favorite games of all time.
Same here. I can't believe how much money they put in that stupid MMO shenmue of doom. I want my Shenmue 3 !

Looks like they're just pulling the same assets they used in the DC version of Shenmue - which wasn't really upgraded for XBox in part 2. First they created the wonderful PSO and bludgen it to death with the same thing over and over, and now this.

Why?!?!?!?!

FUCK!!!

First I see MS3D...then I see that HL2 could be "held hostage"...now I see this crap. WTF?!?! STOP!!!!

[lazy8s]As you can see by these rather poor pictures, the Dreamcast is clearly more powerful than even modern personal computers.[/lazy8s]

Hey, you gotta joke around at times like this. :D

I wish Sega/Sammy would just make Shenmue 3 and finish the series already. Hopefully the development of Shenmue 3 does not hinge on this game's success.

I cant quite put my finger on it, the character models are passable at least, the textures arent that terrible, but as a package it just looks wrong, i think PC sharpness is to blame, slap a pack of lard on the screen.

PS worst sky and water textures ever.

A massively multiplayer game that actually has an action-based combat system sounds great if it's responsive and well designed.

The graphics are more detailed than expected, having characters articulated with a lot of distinguishing aspects and a good capture of the series' classical visual style, for a game that must be able to display over a hundred players at a time and on an Asian PC platform which accomodates the lowest common denominator of system performance that's used to access these popular MMOGs over there. Looks like players will be able to do quite a lot of customization to their character's appearance.

The graphics are too garish for Shenmue. If there's one thing the game did right (other than the music), it was the subtleties in artwork and colour choices that made it look pretty damn good.

Damn, it's like Sega are becoming the dream destroyer.

Thanks a fucking lot Sega, what other legends have you yet to crapify? Panzer Dragoon Saga? Oh you fucking dare....

Sega, please keep this game in China and on the PC. And don't publish anymore screenshots of it, so that maybe one day I can forget that it even exists!

The contrast and balance of colors are more ostentatious, yet it appears that the introduction of magic powers into the play system has turned the visual design more in the direction of Soul Calibur-esque flashiness.

O_o

It's like Sega's seeking out their last few handful of loyal fans (like myself) and just straight up asking us to ditch them as their favorite gaming company once and for all.

Add another to the "Why the fuck is Sega doing this to us" list. I love Shenmue, why are they trying to make it worse?

Sega are kings of giving you almost what you want, but then screwing you over somehow.

People want a PD Saga sequel, they get PD Orta (not that that's a bad game, it's just not what everyone was asking for); people want Sega Rally 3, they get some remake of a past game; people want a Nights sequel, they get mini-games using the characters; people want a Phantasy Star sequel, they get PSO.

Now no matter how good these games are, in the end they still leave people begging Sega for what they wanted in the first place. Not that Sega shouldn't try new ideas, they just maybe shouldn't use the franchises people are desperate to see a true sequel for (unless they're making that too).
