Installing OS question

OK, here's the deal. I'm building a new pc soon. Its an Athlon 64.

For an OS I planned on using my windows XP upgrade CD. I'd insert the XP upgrade CD, then it would prompt me for my old OS CD to see if I'm legit and I'd put in my old ME CD. From there the XP CD would be put back in and install the regular XP OS, right?

Should I just buy a new version of XP?

I've also heard I should use something called the 64 bit version of windows XP, but I heard thats a buggy beta. Use or stay away?

U got it. As for the XP64 it is indeed a beta but it's not so buggy. Most problems come from lack of 64-bit drivers.

Which version of XP do you have? Pro or Home? Cause it seem's like people with a pro license will be getting a free upgrade to XP 64.

"EXISTING 64-BIT SYSTEMS..."
Finally - I am working on something that would let you trade your 32-bit XP
Pro license for 64-bit. Nothing final here... no details... but the point
is that we want to take care of the people who go out and buy or build x64
systems before we ship.
