Innovation is part of Intel’s ON series, a highlight event each year since Pat Gelsinger took over the company. This event is officially aimed at partners and developers who want to engage with Intel and each other. Attendees can expect keynotes from Intel executives and experts on various topics.

Intel also hosts technical panels, hands-on labs, breakout sessions, and technology showcases demonstrating new products. However, the company has now announced that the event is postponed until 2025, possibly due to current financial challenges.

Innovation and client product announcements

  • Innovation 2021: Intel 12th Gen Core Desktop “Alder Lake”
  • Innovation 2022: Intel 13th Gen Core Desktop “Raptor Lake”
  • Innovation 2023: Intel Core Ultra 100 “Meteor Lake”
  • Innovation 2024 : Intel Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” Canceled

In a brief statement to PCMag, the company mentioned that the “financials were tougher than expected,” leading to the decision to move the event. This follows Intel’s cost-saving plan, which includes laying off over 15,000 employees.

The event is officially pushed back to 2025, but no specific date has been provided. The original date was significant for fans and industry insiders, as the event was expected to showcase Intel’s Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” series, which now seems unlikely to happen in 2024.

Intel was supposed to present Arrow Lake and a few other products, during the 2024 Innovation event, but now they have postponed it, probably due to financial concerns.
The question now remains on if this will affect the launch of Arrow Lake, or if Intel will do a smaller launch, but keep the same date.

like who the hell will buy arrow lake with all the problems the 13/14th gen seem to have. I won't.
This.

It's not even that the 13th/14th gen have problems that is the problem. The problem is how Intel have handled all of this... or rather not handled.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Moore's Law is Dead was saying that Arrow Lake was likely to be delayed until next year.

This would seem to support that notion.

I am not going to believe that the wheels have fallen off for Arrow Lake until the benchmarks confirm it.

There are no changes to Intel’s launch plans, timing, or product readiness. We are excited about the new product announcements and momentum we have in store, including significant announcements this fall. We’ll share more details on our next-gen desktop processor products, codenamed Arrow Lake, later this year.

– Intel to OC3D

The Arrow Lake series will see a staggered launch, with desktop chips expected to hit shelves around October and mobile updates to arrive around CES 2025 in January. Intel has not even confirmed that the Arrow Lake chips will be part of the Core Ultra 200 lineup, nor did the company allow board partners to name their Z890 motherboards at Computex, which was a strange decision to say the least.

In fall of 2024, Intel is expected to face a second wave of Zen 5 processors, also known as Ryzen 9000X3D, which are rumored to launch between Q3/Q4 and new AM5 motherboards in the 800-series. The initial lineup from Intel will reportedly focus on the so-called K-Series, which are 125W TDP models for enthusiasts. The remaining SKUs, including 65W and 35W models, are expected to launch in 2025.

Well was Meteor Lake a success?
I figured there must be some buzz about this in the mobile space, but I can't recall hearing anything about it.
