Intel to possibly tap other foundries for its chips

Pretty shocking but then TSMC has leapfrogged them for a while now.

They're considering it but the problem is that TSMC doesn't want to fab their chips. Why, well because there's a possibility that they'll revert back to their own fabs at some point.
It's a tricky situation for Intel.

When they announced that yet again they would delay their next node and stay on 14nm another year i thought about this possiblity.

There is just no room for improvements on the 14nm.The ipc is stagnated, the power consumption is huge and they already started dropping the base clocks in order to better sustain the boosts.

If AMD pushes the envelope just a little bit more, Intel won't be able to compete in any shape or form. I think this next 14nm generation will be awful and anyone who buys will regret it.

If you have an intel right, you should absolute stay with it and wait until 2022 for whatever comes then.

What a world when you don't want to take on Intel as a customer. Some up-and-coming indie chip manufacturer.

What time is it?
It's really not shocking at all. Intel's production has been atrocious for the past 2+ years. It's a move they need to make.

Which is made all the funnier when you consider a lot of Intel's problems started when they misread market demand and shifted their production pipeline towards Apple.

Yup. Something similar happened with one of their sapphire suppliers. From what I recall, they overextended to land a spot in Apple’s supply chain, then ended up going under when Apple changed strategies and moved away from targeting sapphire over gorilla glass.

Fun story, I went out with a friend (engineer) for drinks and he showed up with 4 girls who worked in HR like ~9 years ago. Basically the girls were the worst people I’ve ever met. During our time together they discussed:

1) Hiring guys because they’re hot
2) Having relations with co-workers
3) The size of their “conquests”, um... endowments
4) The fact they only did about 5 hours of work per day
5) How much they loved Obama
6) How much they’d like to fuck Obama
7) Guessing how big Obama’s dick is
8) How it’s not cheating to do oral
9) how they make more then 6 figures each... and it’s not enough
10) Getting people they don’t like fired
11) Which boss would be the best fuck and whether he’d do it since he was married.
12) How they defrauded the company with fake expense reports

And that was over like 3~4 hours of drinking.

On the plus side 2 of them were pretty good looking and the other two were average. (All asian)

Were these girls working at Intel?

This market is constantly back and fourth.
