Long post
I recently left a pretty decent job as the inside sales agent of a Electrical Utilities Rep agency. It paid very well (especially for someone at 24 years old with only an associates.) but it was 60+ hours a week and it was causing a lot of stress on my then girlfriend (Now Fiancé btw as of last week) and I have wanted to return to school to get my Bachelors and eventually professional degree so I had to leave.
I previously worked for an AT&T Authorized retailer for almost 2 years and I really enjoyed that so I figured I'd work for an AT&T again. My resume is sharp and I even got a letter of recommendation from my previous AT&T manager to go with it. I figured this would be a breeze and that I would walk right into my old line of work... my mistake clearly.
AT&T corp hasn't called me back, the local authorized Retailer in the area has really strung me along, Sprint HR deemed me non hirable because I requested two days off a week for school and Sunday mornings for Church.
I finally got a call back from the local Verizon Authorized retailer after almost 3 weeks... does anyone have any interview advice? It's been so long since I've had an actual "interview". I didn't have to interview at my Rep job because I knew the owner, I didn't have to interview at AT&T because they approached me and offered me the position straight away because I managed to convince the manager to preorder and pay in full for a copy of Halo 4 (he hates halo) when I worked at Gamestop. I had been at gamestop for 5 years and that was my first job so really the last time I interviewed for a position was 8 years ago.
Does anyone have any advice?
Advice specifically pertaining to Verizon interviews would be great but I bet the odds are slim that a bunch of people here work there so really just advice in general would be appreciated!
Obviously dress well and demonstrate my value.
