Total sales for the Early Access release of life simulation game inZOI have surpassed one million units, publisher KRAFTON and developer inZOI Studio announced.

inZOI launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on March 28.

“We are honored to share that inZOI has surpassed one million sales—made possible thanks to your incredible support,” the development team said in a statement. “It’s a number that still feels unreal to us and a milestone we could not have reached without each and every one of you. Your excitement, your creations, your feedback, your content, and your support have brought inZOI to life in ways we never could have imagined. From the very beginning, you’ve been shaping inZOI with us, and we’re deeply grateful for the passion and love you’ve poured into it. We’ll continue working hard to bring that promise to life — where every life becomes a story in inZOI.”

It looks really good. Though it all will depend on mod support. And less clunkiness.

First impression is really good due to nice graphics, while EA went after more cartoonish one (granted it was due to weaker hardware targets).

I’m glad to see inzoi is off to a strong start. It needs work, but I’m eager to see what state it’s in in about a year or so.

This is good cuz it means that EA won't be pulling the no pools stunt for The Sims 5 whenever that releases.

Bad news pal.

Project Rene/The Sims 5 was indefinitely delayed in favor of the sims 4. They are just going to continue treating TS4 as a live service game for the foreseeable future. The reasoning was they didn’t want to start over with a new base game and alienate sims 4 fans by selling them a game that had significantly less content.

Because they didn’t do that in the sims 2. Or the sims 3. Or the sims 4. 🤷‍♂️

Dang, yeah forgot they had also made it free to play a few years ago. Guess it would be dependent on how many people jump ship to Inzoi, what would get them to consider making a new sequel.

I’m not sure. At this point, the underlying tech running TS4 is over 10 years old, and it’s showing. It’s my understanding that the simulation lag bug that causes your FPS to tank sometimes until you open the pause menu a few times is unfixable, and it’s been proven that the game runs worse the more expansions you have installed.

The game is literally crumbling under its own weight. TS5 represented a perfect opportunity to rewrite it from the ground up and start fresh with new ideas and modern functionality.

We were promised that we’d be able to use build mode on mobile, import them to the game and play, make textures from photos, color anything we want, etc, similar to how TS3 worked.

Then they project reneged on that and we are stuck in this TS4 prison until inzoi lights a fire under their asses. So I wish Inzoi all the success in the world.

The market is wide open right now to take out the Sims. EA for some inexplicable reason has a skeleton crew on that cash cow. If InZoI delivers with the mod support they will finally kill off the sims.
